POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS REPORT
2019 FIRST HALF
August 2019
1POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS REPORT
I am pleased to share Celgene’s political contributions report for the first half of 2019, which includes a listing of candidates and political committees supported by the Celgene Corporation Political Action Committee (Celgene PAC) and Celgene Corporation during the period from January 1 through June 30 of 2019.
The Celgene PAC is a volunteer, nonpartisan, employee-run organization that provides opportunities for eligible employees to participate in the American political process. The Celgene PAC supports and contributes to candidates from both political parties who share our commitment to these core principles of access and innovation in health care:
• Expanding access to medicines through a competitive marketplace and a regulatory environment in which innovation can flourish
• Protecting the patient-physician relationship and ensuring patient access to innovative treatments
• Recognizing the important role of biopharmaceutical companies and their employees in the ecosystem of innovation in health care
During the first half of 2019 the Celgene PAC made contributions totaling $92,000 to 63 candidates from both political parties at the Federal and State level. Contributions from Celgene Corporation in states where corporate contributions are permitted totaled $91,500 to 50 candidates from both political parties and to five political committees.
I hope you will take a few moments to review this report and see which candidates the Celgene PAC and Celgene Corporation supported in your state.
During the first half of 2019, the Celgene PAC continued its strong track record of support to candidates and committees of both parties that share our commitment to discovering, developing, and delivering therapies for patients. This is a reflection of the continued support of Celgene PAC members throughout the company.
The Celgene PAC Board of Directors, which is comprised of Celgene employees, meets monthly to consider recommendations for PAC support and approve contributions to candidates and political committees. The Celgene PAC Board also reviews and approves political contributions made by Celgene Corporation in states and to entities where contributions with corporate funds are permitted.
It is more important than ever for us to positively and proactively engage elected officials to demonstrate the importance of biomedical innovation and patient access in health care. I am confident that together, we can have a positive impact on the environment for innovation and access on behalf of the patients we serve.
Thank you for your support,
Richard Bagger Chair, Celgene PAC

Individual voices are important. Our collective voice is even more powerful. This is why it’s a privilege to serve on Celgene’s PAC Board of Directors; helping the Hematology/Oncology franchise grow our PAC and our voice. As constituents and advocates, it’s a historically critical time to stand up and be counted. Our collective voice must loudly resonate with policy makers to protect medical innovation and good health care policy on behalf of the patients we serve.
