Howdy Ags! “If there is an A&M man in one-hundred miles of you, you are expected to get together, eat a little, and live over the days you spent at the A&M College of Texas.” In 1883, Aggies gathered together for fellowship and to relive their college days and the victories and defeats won and lost upon the drill field and in the classroom. This first meeting has evolved into one of Texas A&M’s most revered traditions, Aggie Muster. Now celebrated on April 21st of each year, Aggies all over the world still gather together to honor the memories of A&M men and women who have passed and to ensure that their memory lives on in the hearts of Aggies everywhere. Texas Aggie Muster will be observed in more than 300 locations around the world. These Muster gatherings are held in many unique places ranging from battleships and foxholes during World War II to ballrooms, steakhouses, rodeos and other locations. This year’s Muster will take place at the USS Lexington in Hangar Bay II. Join us as we remember and honor the Aggies who have passed and we hold so dear. The cost to attend Muster is $25. President’s Corner;

Howdy Ags!

The Nueces County A&M Club had another amazing year in 2018. Thank you to Lari Jo Edwards for your leadership. We couldn’t have done any of it without the hard work of the board, all of the 2018 volunteers, donors, and chairpersons who support the club. We look forward to an amazing 2019 and this year’s board of directors. Many new Aggies have stepped up to fill some very big shoes. Be sure you thank them for all their hard work when you see them at events. We will be spotlighting our board members on our social media pages, so you can get to know them better throughout the year.

As you know, 2019 has been busy already and I believe the hard work and dedication of the board is extremely encouraging! The 2019 Salty Aggie calendar is already full of amazing events. This year’s Muster will be celebrated on April 22nd, as we are following the campus Muster in moving the event for those observing the Easter holiday. The 2019 Nueces County A&M Club Muster will be held at the USS Lexington. Our keynote speaker will be Dan Leyendecker ‘90, a 12th Man from 1988. The NCAMC’s President Elect, Matthew Woolbright ‘12, has worked hard to put together a great program. If you have any questions, concerns, or information regarding the 2019 Muster Roll Call, please contact Matthew at [email protected] or me at [email protected].

We have several Aggie Events coming up:

April: July: 13 Maroon & White Game 11 Happy Hour 22 Muster @ USS Lexington

May: August: 2 Happy Hour @ Rebel Toad Brewing 1 Happy Hour

2 Captain’s Meeting @ Doc’s June: 3 Fishing Tournament @ Doc’s 6 Happy Hour @ Lazy Beach Brewing 7 George Puls, Jr. ’44 Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament @ Corpus Christi Country Club

I am excited to be your Nueces County A&M Club President for 2019. As always, the continued success of the club is the Board’s primary concern. All of the hard work, donations, and volunteers are investments towards our local Aggies who are bound for College Station. When listening to their stories and learning of their dedication to their families and community, it is evident that we are leaving a lasting legacy of Aggie Tradition in Nueces County. Finally, please be sure to renew your Club Membership ($25 per individual, $40 per family, or $1000 lifetime).

Thanks again for your support this year!

Gig ‘Em & God Bless!
