ACADEMIC BRIEFINGWednesday, 24 Aug at 0830Students under their respective programmes will be briefed on theirtimetable and other academic related matters. Take this opportunity to getto know your Faculty Members as well.

TAYLOR’S UNIVERSITY WELCOMEWednesday, 24 Aug at 1400Taylor’s Orientation Week is the most effective first step towardstransitioning students into University campus life with enriching experiences.New students are formally welcome by the Taylor’s University Vice-Chancellor and President, Deans and Vice-President of the StudentExperience Department. Under the Student Experience Department, studentscan look forward to learning more about the Student Central, Bursary andFinancial Aid, Career Services Centre, Global Mobility Office, Counseling andPsychological Services Centre, Health Services Centre, Student DevelopmentHub, Sports and Recreations Centre, International Student Services andInternational Office. In addition, students are able to acquire criticalinformation on the services provided by Library, ICT, University Gym, StudentSuccess Centre (SSC) and SHINE Awards Centre (SAC). The e-LearningAcademy will introduce the Blended Learning with TIMES which is importantfor students to know about the online platform available in assisting, andenhancing their learning experiences. Senior students and alumni are invitedto share their campus experiences and how to maximize their time in theuniversity, balancing between academic achievement, personal developmentand leadership enhancement.

TYPHOID INOCULATIONWednesday, 24 Aug at 0900It is compulsory for all students under the Hospitality, Culinary Arts andBachelor of Science in Culinology to take the Typhoid Inoculation. Studentscan receive the Typhoid injection at Kumpulan Medic Clinic located at Syopz,The Boardwalk, Level 1.

UNIFORM COLLECTIONWednesday, 24 Aug at 1430This is applicable to students under the School of Hospitality, Tourism andCulinary Arts programme. Uniform measurement and collection is at Taylor’sMerchandize Shop located at the Syopz, The Boardwalk. Level 1. Studentshave to present the receipt showing their uniform purchase during collectionfrom Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm only.

STUDENT IDWednesday, 24 Aug at 1230All students are required to have their digital photo taken for Student IDprinting. You can take your digital photo at Student Central by presentingyour original payment receipt (full-payment for the 1st Semester).YourStudent ID will be ready for collection after 24 hours on weekdays.

CLUBS AND SOCIETIES DAYThursday, 25 Aug at 1200Clubs and Societies Day is an avenue for new students to join any Clubs andSocieties of their choice ranging from community centric, business andentrepreneurship, performing arts, spiritual connectivity, cultural, publicspeaking, special interests, sports and international clubs and societies.There are more than 50 over clubs and societies participating in thisrecruitment drive to engage with new students through decorated Clubsand Societies specific booths, activities and performances.

CAMPUS HUNTThursday, 25 Aug at 1400The adrenalin pumping self-navigated Campus Hunt is organized by Taylor’sUniversity Orientation Leaders to help new students be familiarized withthe key location and support services of various student-orienteddepartments. Every station is in-fused with fun and exciting games andstudents are required to work in a group to solve different round ofchallenges which promotes integration, team work and critical thinking.Please come attired in your sport shoes/flats and pants.

ORIENTATION PARTYFriday, 26 Aug at 1700The Orientation Party is a themed party organized by the OrientationLeaders to welcome and celebrate new students as they enter intotheir University life. Exhilarating ice breakers are in placed to helpstudents to get to know one another, integrate and have fun withexciting prizes up for grab. There are various performances showcasedby Clubs and Societies and many other in-house talents adding flavorto the event. Sumptuous refreshments are provided!

KL FAMILIARISATION TRIPSaturday, 27 Aug at 1100The Kuala Lumpur Familiarization Trip aims to help students to get toknow more about the local transportation system, the local delicaciesand the uniqueness of our urban city. The Kuala LumpurFamiliarization Trip will include:i) KL Sentral - an intermodal transportation hub to most of Kuala

Lumpur's passenger rail lines as well as an intercity train stationbetween Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore.

ii) KLCC (Petronas Twin Towers) – One of Malaysia’s iconiclandmarks

1. STUDENT IDIt is very important to have your Student ID with you and displayedat all times when you are on campus. Students are required topresent original payment receipt (full-payment for the 1stSemester) to the Student Advisor @ Student Central Counter (BlockA, Level 2) to take a digital picture for the Student ID.

2. PEDESTRIAN ACCESS CARDIf you are staying in PJS 7 area or taking the RapidKL Bus 783 toLakeside Campus, you may apply for a pedestrian access card togain access to the campus via the pedestrian gate. To apply for one,please email ([email protected]) to the StudentAdvisor @ Student Central for advice.

3. PARKING SYSTEM IN LAKESIDEFree parking bays are available at Zone H and Zone I in LakesideCampus. Parking fee of RM3 per entry is applicable to Zone J andbasement parking at the Boardwalk. The parking facility is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please look for alternative sites if all theparking bays are taken up.

4. COMMUTING TO LAKESIDE CAMPUSStudents may commute to Taylor’s Lakeside campus using publictransportation such as KTM Kommuter (Sentul – Port Klang Line),LRT (Kelana Jaya Line), Rapid KL 783 bus (from Kelana Jaya) or usingthe Taylor’s shuttle buses.

5. DRESS CODE POLICYStudents must dress neatly with clean attire at all times. Studentsare advised to be mindful of the cultural sensitivities of others andthe academic environment.

6. SMOKE-FREE CAMPUS ENVIRONMENTSmoking is not permitted on Taylor’s University grounds which areclearly separated from the Commercial Block (The Boardwalk) bythe demarcation stickers. Students found smoking on the Universitygrounds will face the below consequences:

First-time offenders will be given a verbal warning and their detailswill be recorded in a database by Student Central.

For a second offence, the student will be fined RM50 and receive awarning letter from the University.

If a third offence is committed, the student will be fined RM100 andbe subjected to disciplinary action
