That residents are now given minimum piped water andmeagre tanker supplies totalling a third of the installedcapacity of 1,494 million litres a day, that too mainly fromdesalination plants, faraway lakes and farm wells, is proof ofthe neglect of water governance.
A time-bound plan is needed to augment the resources in theGreater Chennai region encompassing the neighbouringdistricts of Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram.
