DESCRIPTION

Railway technicians normally start their day by picking up a stack of registration papers, timetables, forms and schemas from the office, which they then takes along to the railways for his inspection tasks.

The primary task of maintenance workers, currently supported by the solution, is the execution of InspectionOrders.

If the maintenance worker encounters issues they are reported as Maintenance Notifications

STARTING THE DAY

The technician starts the day by look at his list of Work Orders.

They can see information about when and where workorders must be executed.

Benefits:

- Reduced travel time: travel directly to the work site, without visiting office first

WORKING TASKS

Once on site, the technicians have access to detailed information about the Work Order, such as:

- Equipments that must be inspected- Operations that must be executed- Measurements that must be taken

Benefits:

-Always up-to-date information-Reduced paper usage

Once equipments have been inspected and operations have been executed, technicians can check offindividual items to confirm the work.

Bennifits:

-Backoffice can follow status continuously and close to real time-Jobs can easily be handed off to other technicians-For long running tasks, Technician is always sure of what work has been done

CONFIRMATIONS

MEASUREMENTS

As part of inspection orders, techniciansmake ”Evaluation Measurements” for selected equipment. They select from a code group of values such as:

-Everything OK-Needs maintenance-Condition critical

Benefits:

- On site correct registration- Fewer errors

SPOTTING FLAWS

They fill-in information about the flaw on the newly createdNotification.

They have access to the same search helps, that they alreadyare familiar with from the backend.

Benefits:

- Accurate data captured immidiately-Eliminate double registration-Speed up communication

Technician workers always have to have an eye open for flaws while being on the tracks - even on equipment that is not part of the current workorder.

When detecting flaws on the track, workers create a new Maintenance Notification.

FINDING THE EQUIPMENT

To locate the correct Technical Object that the flawhas occured on, technicians can use a map with integrated GPS.

The map shows all Technical Objects in theirimmediate vicinity.

Benefits:

-The correct Technical Object is easily identified-Accuracy in registrations

TAKING A PICTURE

To further document the flaw, technicians canattach photoes of the flaw to the Notification. They can be taken with the built-in camera

Benefits:

-Better documentation of flaw-No need for external devices such as extracamera

SUBMITTING

After the data, Work Order or newly created Notifications is submitted, technicians can continue their work, withoutworrying about data connections etc.

All changes are locally stored on the iPad, and automatically synchronized when possible.

Benefits:

-No show-stoppers-Support in areas with no connection
