Laszlo Varro, international Energy Agency, France Head of Gas Coal and Electricity Markets joined the IEA in 2011 as the Head of Gas Coal and Power division. The division undertakes the analysis of gas, coal and electricity markets and policy developments with a special focus on supply-demand balance, capacity investments, supply security issues as well as the implications of climate policy for the gas and electricity systems. Before joining the IEA Laszlo worked in the private sector as the Director for Strategy Development at MOL Group, a publicly quoted integrated energy company.

Gottfried Steiner, central European Gas Hub, Austria Chief Executive Officer has been Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board of CEGH AG since May 2011. Central European Gas Hub (CEGH) is one of the most important trading hubs for natural gas in Central Europe and provides exchange services together with Vienna Stock Exchange (Spot Market; Futures Market). It provides international gas companies with an online platform for the settlement of natural gas trading activities in Baumgarten and other border points of the Austrian transmission system (e.g. Oberkappel, Überackern). In 2010, CEGH managed to achieve a trade volume of 33.8 billion m³ and established itself as one of the biggest gas hubs in Continental Europe. His prior experience was gained as Head of Corporate Development and Business Development – OMV Gas & Power GmbH, and as a Cabinet level Advisor for energy and environment at the of the Austrian Federal Minister for Economy and Labour. Academic background: Dipl.-Ing. Mining University Leoben, Austria & MBA, University of Oxford – Said Business School, UK.

Fortunato costantino, Sahara Energy international LTd Switzerland, Chief Executive Officeris currently Chief Executive Officer in Sahara Energy International, based in Geneva, which is dedicated to the trading and marketing of Crude Oil, Distillates, LNG, LPG, Natural gas. Sahara Group is a vertically integrated Oil & Gas Company, with offices in Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Benin, UK, Singapore, USA, Switzerland and Angola. Besides leading the trading activities worldwide, Fortunato is currently actively involved in the BRASS LNG and OKLNG Projects, where Sahara was awarded by equity stakes in the assets. Previously, Fortunato leaded the LNG business in OMV, with focus in developing new liquefaction and regasification projects (e.g. GATE, NL – KRK, Croatia). His 20 years career comprises also management roles in ENI, BP, TXU, BHP Billiton, & Essent Energy Trading, mainly in the Oil, Gas and Power downstreams.

Spain, LNG Services Leaderis a well established consultant and an Associate Consultant with Mercados EMI, a business advisory company providing services to the international LNG, natural gas, and broader energy industry. He has worked with a variety of leading European energy companies. Carlos has strong expertise in strategy, due diligence, contract negotiation & project development/management and has worked across the natural gas, gas-fired power generation and renewable power (biomass, solar & wind) disciplines on projects for clients in Europe, South America and Africa including Essent Trading, Eon, GdF, REPSOL, BP, Sonatrach and others. Previously, he was General Manager of the GdF Spanish subsidiary company, as well as operating from Paris in an earlier senior strategic management role covering GdF’s European marketing.

paul Tummers, Fluxys, Belgium Member of the Executive Board, Strategy and Regulatory Affairs, DirectorPaul Tummers was appointed in 2008 to the executive board of Fluxys as Director Strategy and Regulatory Affairs. His areas of responsibility cover relations with regulators, development of new service offerings, long term planning of the network and ICT. Paul Tummers holds a master in Civil Engineering from UCL Louvain-la-Neuve and an MBA from KUL Leuven. He started his career in the chemical sector in the maintenance field. He later spent several years in management consulting (PwC and Deloitte) leading several transnational projects in the area of IT and logistics. In 2000 he joined Distrigas that eventually unbundled to give rise to Fluxys in late 2001.For Fluxys, Paul Tummers led the ICT part of the liberalization project. In 2004 he also took up the position of ICT manager.

Michael Fipper, nafta a.s., Slovakia, Member of the Board of DirectorsDr Michael Fipper gained his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Aachen University of Technology. He started his professional career as a consultant for McKinsey & Company, from where he joined in 2002 E.ON AG, Controlling, Operational Excellence. Since 2007 is Dr Fipper active in Slovak gas business through E.ON Ruhrgas AG, where he started as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Pozagas a.s and Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board in SPP Distribucia a.s. Since 2009 is Dr Fipper the Member of the Board of Directors at Nafta a.s.

Thomas kleefuß, nET4GAS, czech republic, Chief Executive Officerserves as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Net4Gas, SRO. Mr. Kleefuss has more than 15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, having worked in various positions in finance and commercial oil and gas trading. Mr. Kleefuss started his career with DEMINEX GmbH in Essen in 1990 as its Controller & then served as its Senior Auditor. Since 1996, he served as a Finance Manager for DEMINEX Cairo, Egypt and later RWE Dea‘s Egyptian upstream op - erations. Since 2000, he has served as Head of the Oil & Gas Marketing Department of RWE Dea AG in Hamburg and was responsible for the marketing

and trading of RWE Dea‘s domestic and international oil & gas reserves. Since 2004, Mr. Kleefuss served as Head of Gas Purchasing West in RWE Energy AG and was responsible for the group‘s gas purchases from Norway and the Netherlands for RWE‘s continental market. He holds a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Cologne.

riccardo rocca, Edison S.p.A, italy, Business Development ManagerRiccardo Rocca joined Edison’s International Department in 2000. He worked until 2004 on the development of Edison electricity business. In 2005 he joined the gas business, working prior in the definition the gas development plan of Edison and EdF Group and successively in the development of the Turkey-Greece-Italy gas interconnection project. Since 2010 he has been appointed as Development Director of the IGI Poseidon project.

ulrich ronnacker, open Grid Europe, Germany Head of Regulatory and Legal AffairsUlrich Ronnacker was appointed Prokurist (authorised officer) of Open Grid Europe GmbH in 2004. As Head of Law & Regulation he is responsible for all national and European legal and regulatory matters relevant to the company. Moreover, he is responsible for the company’s equal treatment programme. Ulrich Ronnacker joined E.ON Ruhrgas AG in 1990. Following several positions in the Gas Supply Division, he was appointed Head of Gas Transportation Matters in the Legal Division of E.ON Ruhrgas AG in 2000.

A statistician by training, Mr. Firzli has more than 13 years of capital market research and institutional asset management experience, focusing on Canadian, Asian and MENA area pension funds, as well as sovereign wealth funds, central banks and supranational organizations. Mr. Firzli is a graduate of McGill University, an alumnus of the HEC Paris School of Management, and a member of the International Commission of the French Society of Financial Analysts (SFAF); he conducted research at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL) Doctoral School of Economics and Management and the Paris School of Political Science (IEP).

Anders Bavnhoej Hansen, Energinet.dk, denmark, Chief ConsultantAnders Bavnhøj Hansen, chief consultant in strategic planning at the Danish Electricity and Gas TSO Energinet.dk. Has been working with energy system planning at the Danish Energy Agency and with power system R&D at ABB Corporate Research, Västerås in Sweden. Graduated in energy technology (MSc) at Aalborg University, Denmark. Special fields of skills are strategic planning of integrated energy systems (power, gas, heat).

Georges Bouchard, French Gas Association, France, Managing Directoris currently GDF SUEZ’ representative in International Gas Union, Eurogas and French Gas Association as in the French Committee of the World Energy Council. Born in 1952, he started his career in 1977 as civil servant in the Energy Department of the Ministry of Industry, in a regional division then in the national electricity / gas division. He joined EDF in 1986 as manager of power plants, mainly the nuclear plant of Gravelines (6 units of 900 MW). He joined Gaz de France in 1993. Among others, he was successively in charge of Research, Strategy, Public Affairs and Internal Audit and Risk Management Divisions. He was appointed by the European Commission as representative of the gas industry in the European Energy and Transport Forum. He chaired the French Gas Association from 2005 to 2007.

piotr kus, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., poland, Director of Brussels Office Piotr Kus is the Director of the Brussels Office of GAZ-SYSTEM (Polish Natural Gas TSO), where he is responsible for the relations with EU institutions and organizations based in Brussels. He is also involved in the GAZ-SYSTEM’s international activities and projects. Before joining GAZ-SYSTEM Mr. Kus worked for Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG S.A.). Being an employee of the Representative Office in Brussels he was dealing with EU affairs of this company. Mr. Kus started his professional career in the financial sector. He was employed in one of the large Polish commercial banks, where he was working on projects in various areas such as corporate finance, corporate loans and risk management. Mr. Kus graduated from Warsaw School of Economics from the faculty of Finance and Banking. His principal areas of specialization were banking, institutional economics, and financial markets. He was also studying at Ecole Supérieure Libre des Sciences Commerciales Appliquées in Paris.

Andras Jenei, Falcon oil&Gas, Hungary, Advisor to the Board centre for Fair political Analysis (cFpA), Hungary, Head of Energy Workshop is currently Advisor to the Board of Falcon Oil & Gas and the Head of Energy Workshop at the Center for Fair Political Analysis, a think-tank based in Budapest, Hungary. Since January 2011 he is advisor to the Sustainable Development Department of the Hungarian Parliament. He studied engineering management at the Technical University of Budapest (BME), holds a BSC in Political Science from King Sigismund College, and an MSC from Defense and Security at the Zrínyi Miklós National Defense University. His research fields are energy policy, unconventional gas exploration and energy security focusing on Central Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union and the Caspian Region.
