A few years ago, rock singer Carlos Santana and rock group Manna won an award at the "Latin Grammys" for their song: "Corazon Espinado." This beautiful song is of a man that regrets the pain that a woman has caused him. He cannot forget her; for her, he has been left with a thorny heart. This song always reminds me of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a heart surrounded by a crown of thorns and inflamed by love he has for his wife, the Church, that is, us.
The devotion to the Sacred Heart comes from a French nun, Saint Margaret Maria Alacoque, to whom Jesus showed her heart in June 1675. Jesus told her that his heart burns with love for human beings, but Christians only offend it with insults, ingratitude, and indifferences.
How many times, as a Church or as individuals, have we pricked the heart of the Lord? And even so, the image of the thorned and inflamed heart of Jesus continues singing to us and calling for us to be his. If we return to him, Jesus Christ promises us twelve blessings of peace, consolation and other graces.

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE
Hace algunos anos, el cantante de rock Carlos Santana y el grupo Mana ganaron un premio en los "Latín Grammys" por su canción: "Corazón Espinado." Esta bella canción es de un hombre que lamenta el dolor que una mujer le ha causado. No la puede olvidar, por ella le ha dejado corazón espinado. Esta canción siempre me recuerda al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, corazón rodeado por una corona de espinas e inflamado por el amor que le tiene a su mujer, la Iglesia, es decir, nosotros. La devoción al Sagrado Corazón proviene de una monja francesa, Santa Margarita María Alacoque a quien Jesús le mostro su corazón en Junio de 1675. Jesús le dijo que su corazón arde de amor por los seres humanos, pero los cristianos solo lo ofendemos, con insultos, ingratitud e indiferencias. ? Cuantas veces, como Iglesia o como individuos, le hemos espinado el corazón al Señor? Y aun así, la imagen del Corazón espinado e inflamado de Jesús nos sigue cantando y llamando para que seamos suyos. RREEFFLLEEXXIIOONNEEMMOOSS SSOOBBRREE LLAA PPAALLAABBRRAA DDEE DDIIOOSS El cuerpo y la sangre de Cristo- Juan 6: 51-58 Mi carne es verdadera comida, y mi sangre es verdadera bebida. (Juan 6:55) ¿Alguna vez ha tenido que pasar sin comer durante un período prolongado de tiempo? No fue una experiencia agradable, ¿verdad? Cuanto más tiempo pasemos sin alimento, más débiles nos volveremos. Se siente como si nuestra vida se estuviera drenando lentamente de nosotros, y en cierto sentido, lo es. Las palabras de Jesús en el Evangelio de hoy dejan en claro que su Cuerpo y Sangre son tan vitales para nosotros como lo son la comida y la bebida. Sin el alimento de la Eucaristía, la vida de Dios en nosotros puede comenzar a agotarse lentamente. Aquí hay un ejemplo extremo de cómo da vida a la Eucaristía. En su libro He Leadeth Me, padre Walter Ciszek describió los riesgos que corría cada día para ofrecer misa en el campo de trabajos forzados de Siberia, donde fue encarcelado: "Haría todo lo posible, sufriría cualquier inconveniente y correría el riesgo de poner el pan de vida a disposición de estos hombres". Los hombres trabajaban largas horas en temperaturas frías. Sin embargo, al mediodía, Ciszek celebraría la misa si podía decirlo sin ser detectado, ya sea en una choza de almacenamiento o acurrucado en los cimientos de un edificio. "Las distracciones causadas por el miedo al descubrimiento... no le quitaron nada a las pocas gotas de vino consagrado producido sobre el alma", escribió. Reflecting on God’s Word The Body and Blood of Christ- John 6: 51-58 My flesh is true food, and my Blood is true drink. (John 6:55) Have you ever had to go without food for an extended period of time? I wasn't a pleasant experience, was it? The longer we go without nourishment, the weaker we become. It feels as if our life is slowly draining from us-and in one sense, it is. Jesus' words in today's Gospel make it clear that his Body and Blood are just as vital to us as food and drink are. Without the nourishment of the Eucharist, God's life in us can slowly start to drain away. Here's an extreme example of how life-giving the Eucharist it. In his book He Leadeth Me, Fr. Walter Ciszek described the risks he took each day to offer Mass at the Siberian labor camp where he was imprisoned: "I would go to any length, suffer any inconvenience, and run any risk to make the bread of life available to these men." The men worked long hours in frigid temperatures. Yet at noon, Ciszek would celebrate Mass whether he could say it undetected, whether in a storage shack or huddled in a building foundation. "Distractions caused by the fear of discovery...took nothing away from the few drops of consecrated wine produced upon the soul," he wrote. These prisoners were just as dependent on Jesus' Body and Blood to keep them alive as they were on the meager food they received from their captors. The Eucharist had become their true food and true drink. Ciszek wrote that he was "occasionally overcome with emotion ---as I thought of how {God} had found a way to follow and to feed these lost and straying sheep in this most desolate land." Today, may we too be filled with gratitude as we reflect on the generosity of a God who offers his life-and his very self-to us in the Eucharist. From the Word among us-June 2020
