“We are a diverse faith-community that strives to conform ourselves into the image of

Christ in and through the power of the Holy Spirit, and nourished by The Word,

Sacraments and Tradition to give glory to God and to be a light unto the nations.”

    Volume 1.

    “The Power of a Visit”

Lincoln was paying one of his frequent visits to a hospital for soldiers. He would walk from

ward to ward and cheer and sympathize with the patients. He came to the bedside of a young

soldier who was dying…and he asked. “Well, my boy, what can I do for you?”

The lad looked up and expressed a wish, “Will you write to my mother for me?”

“That I will,” Lincoln agreed and called for paper and pen. He sat down beside the cot and

wrote what the boy dictated. Finished, he turned to the boy and said, “I’ll mail this from my

office as soon as I get back. And now, is there anything else I can do?”

The boy looked up, hesitated, and finally blurted out, “Could you stay with me? I want you to

    hold my hand.”

Lincoln did until he died some hours later.

“Once there was a rich man who dressed in purple and fine linen and feasted every

    day.” (Luke 16:19)

The rich man did not go to hell for dressing in purple and fine linen and for feasting every day.

He suffered because there’s nothing else mentioned he did for Lazarus.

Let us learn from Lincoln who cared enough to ask the young man, “And now, is there any-

    thing else I can do?”

That is why we say, “I confess to almighty God and to you my brothers and sisters that I have

greatly sinned. In my thoughts, in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to

    do.”

Serving The People of God becomes lighter when someone asks us, “Father, is there some-

thing I can do for our church?”

I would like to thank all of you for doing something for our church without expecting anything

in return. Just solely to be of help in any way… humbly, faithfully, happily, and quietly.

Our prayer this Sunday and every day is that each one of us will truly do something by sharing

and serving God and our church.

I pray that by the grace of God, we will truly be faithful to that commitment of “doing some-

thing for our church” by contributing to our church with faith and generosity.

Thank you so much, too, for “doing something” to help prepare for our anniversary. Thank you

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    ¿A qué grupo pertenece usted?

    Dios te bendiga.

    Las oraciones y bendiciones,

    P. Joseph

    ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NONDISCRIMINATION POLICY

    2016-2017

SCHOOL STUDENT NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY The school, mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students regardless of race, color or national and/or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities general-ly accorded or made available to students at the school. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, disabil-ity, medical condition, sex or national and/or ethnic origin in the ad-ministration of educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered pro-grams, although certain athletic leagues and other programs may limit participation and some archdiocesan schools operate as single sex schools.

While the school does not discriminate against students with special needs, a full range of services may not always be available to them. Decisions concerning the admission and continued enrollment of a student in the school are based upon the student’s emotional, aca-demic and physical abilities and the resources available to the school in meeting the student’s needs.

T een Confirmation will be beginning very soon. If you would like to register your child for our Teen Confirmation Program please email Irene T for an appointment at

[email protected]. Our program is held on Thursday

    evenings from 7pm—8:30pm.
