ATTENTION TOWN OF EVANS WATER CUSTOMERS1. The Erie County Water Authority will be taking over Operation and Maintenance of the Town of Evans Water System on April 1, 2013.
2. There will be a Public Information Meeting on Tuesday March 26th, 2013 at 7:00PM at Evans Town Hall to discuss the takeover. A short presentation will be given by the ECWA.
3. Residents will be receiving a welcome letter from the Town of Evans and the ECWA the week of April 1, 2013 outlining the changes.
4. The final Town of Evans Water bill will be mailed between April 15th and May 15th. After this final bill, all future water bills will be paid to the Erie County Water Authority.
5. With a few exceptions, the ECWA will be responsible for the repairs of all waterline breaks. Waterline breaks should be called into 849-8444. Any calls received by the Town of Evans will be directed to the ECWA.
6. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Town of Evans Supervisor’s office at 549-5787 or the Town of Evans Water Department at 549-5751.

TRANSPORTATION REQUESTS DUE New York State Education law requires that requests for special transportation be filed with local Boards of Education by April 1st each year. Since April 1st falls over Spring Recess, the District will accept transportation requests through April 10th. Private Parochial Request Forms are available on our website, www.lake-shorcsd.org, under “Services”, “Transportation Services”, and click on “Forms”. Once the proper form is completed, it should be submitted to the District’s Trans-portation Office located at 8710 North Main Street, Angola, NY 14006. This announcement has been published to alert parents of such students, or prospective students, to inquire as to the procedure to be used if they are not clear relative to the required April 1 annual transportation request filing dead-line. Parents who have questions concerning filing procedures for schools within the 15-mile transportation limit, which is established by New York State Educa-tion Law, should call the Superintendent of Schools or the Transportation Super-visor. They can be reached at 926-2201 or 926-2241, respectively.
SCHOOL TRANSFERS FOR NATIVE AMERICAN STUDENTS Pursuant to an agreement between the New York State Education Depart-ment and the Lake Shore (Evans-Brant) Central School District, Native American children residing within the Cattaraugus Reservation may attend the Lake Shore Central Schools by filing an application for transfer by April 15th each year. Such application for September enrollment shall be effective upon approval by the Lake Shore Superintendent, which approval or denial and the reasons therefore shall be set forth in writing. The state shall provide transportation for any child transferring under this section. All requests for the transfer of Native American children residing within the Cattaraugus Reservation should be addressed to James Przepasniak, Superinten-dent of Schools, Lake Shore Central Schools, 959 Beach Road, Angola, NY 14006, by April 15th.
