is for You
We, the unified faith community of OUR LADY OF FATIMA PARISH, include the churches of Saint Peter, Our Lady of Hope, Saint Michael, Holy Rosary and Immaculate Conception. We are a diverse, merged community with a long history of faith. As a community of faith, we seek to worship together and grow with the sacraments as we nurture a love of Christ and one another. As disciples of Christ through Catholic education we strive to help the youth and children explore, understand and practice their faith. As a body of Christ, we are committed to evangelization through Catholic education and fellowship. We seek to become a strong, active community rooted in charity.

From the Desk of Father Bosco Dear Friends, God’s love for his people is like the steadfast love of a mother for her child—only greater (First Reading). In the Gospel Jesus reminds us that we are God’s precious children. The knowledge of this should free us from fretting and worrying. Worry is essentially distrust in God. Such distrust may be understandable in a heathen who believes in a jealous, capricious, unpredictable god; but not in one
who has learned to call God by the name of Father. The Christian must put his future in the hands of God and pray only for the most essential needs of today. St. Augustine said, “Entrust the past to God’s mercy, the present to his love, and the future to his providence”. May God bless you and your loved ones in the week ahead.

OUR CALL TO STEWARDSHIP “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (material wealth). Matthew 6:24 For many people, God and money run “neck and neck” as their first priority. Making money and spending money becomes the center of their life and they actually become a slave to money. The solution—become more generous. Giving money to Church and charity frees us from slavery to money and making money a “god” before God.
Please pray for our sick: Bernie Wiegel, Glenn Garvey, Dale Symons, Eileen White, Joyce Von Rueden, Rita Marty, Heidi Brunkow Moran, Paul O’Brien, Jerry Nethery, Jean Stopper and Bob Bilsie. If you know of someone seriously ill and needs community prayers, please inform Father Bosco.

LENTEN REGULATIONS Catholics who have celebrated their 14th birthday are to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, all Fridays in Lent and Good Friday. In addition to abstaining from meat, Catholics who have celebrated their 18th birthday, until they celebrate their 59th birthday, are to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Those who are bound to this regulation may eat only one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength according to one’s needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted. These minimal penitential practices should not be lightly excused.
