This presentation will start to explain the basic

details about this record company for example when

it was founded and what artists are signed with the

company.

ESTABLISHED

XL records was found in the

early 90’s in what was

known as the acid house

era. They were the

specialist record dealers

and mainly specialized in

rave and dance tracks. In

the coming years the label

had expanded and was

taken to America.

ARTISTS

The XL record label has done

very well as they have

worked with some major

music artists. These consist

of artists such as the prodigy,

the white stripes and also

Basement Jaxx, all of these

have been very successful in

the last decade and am still

doing well to this date.

SIZE

XL recordings is very small

compared to the major 3 record

companies such as Warner,

Universal and also Sony, XL on

average only releases up to 6 big

albums a year and the other 3 will

be able to release a lot more than

this. Although it may be small

producing there are many stores

found worldwide which helps to

build sales.
