I reckon strays “rescues” stick together.
The chicken is a run away from a nearby
neighbor that raises chickens. The hen also
follows humans and horses around. My
wife, a Registered Vet. Tech. took both
stray cats (kittens at the time) to work and
had them spayed. The hay and feed shed,
along back end of our horse facilities is now
rid of ground squirrels and other rodents.

Hoof Beats by the Club President
Well, it’s on to the Holidays. I can hardly believe we are coming to the end of another year. I would like
to thank our dedicated members, Officers/Board and sponsors for our 46th successful year. This year we
were involved in 2 Trail Ribbon cuttings, one with the County and the other with our City. We are so
proud to be an integral part of new and future trails. The County continues to provide trails and our City
supports requiring builders to provide trail connections as well as new trails to add to our already 100 miles
of trails through out Yorba Linda. Some other successes of our year included our well attended horse show
as well as our continued Equestrian Committee Meetings with the City. We hope you will all continue to
support YLCR in 2017.
We would love to see you at our General Meeting this Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at 7 PM at the
Yorba Linda Community Center in the Club Room. We will have pizza, drinks, dessert, and you may also
win a great prize, so come join the Fun. Bring new ideas for 2017 and we are always looking for
newsletter photos. If you have a new horse or you recently won an event with your horse, we would love
to hear about it and include you in our next newsletter.
The last couple of years we have waited to celebrate the Holidays until early January. We always have lots
of members attending the National Finals Rodeo, which runs through the first two weekends in December
so that limits our weekends as we know those final weeks are reserved for family time. If you would like
to be the Host of the party this year, please let me know soon so we can at least set a date.
There is a lot going on within the City so I hope to see you on Wednesday so we can bring you up to date.
We won’t meet again until after the first of the year, so we would love to collect your 2017 Membership
and/or Sponsorship dues.

Vintage Circle Y dark oil western show saddle with
matching headstall and breast collar with sterling
silver overlay conchos. These items were customized
by Broken Horn, are in excellent condition, and are
offered for sale as a package. Saddle has genuine
rawhide tree, 6 3/4” gullet, genuine sheepskin lining,
and silver braiding on skirt, cantle, and gullet. Each
item has been thoroughly cleaned and reconditioned at
Broken Horn Saddle Shop throughout the years and
most recently October 2015. Saddle, headstall and
breast collar have been stored in protective tack bags
at home in a non-smoking environment. Primarily
used for showing Morgan and Plantation Walking
horses in equitation, pleasure, and trail obstacle
classes.

A YLCR Friend is moving and she is trying to re-home her 2 cats. Her “MEAN” husband is threatening to take them to the pound.

showing of 12 horse and
riders. Approximately
200 people attended with
many of them going on a
5k hike after the
ceremony led by Mayor
Lindsey. The dedication
was August 13, 2016.
