We plan financially to go on vacation, we plan financially for the education of our children, we make financial plans for our retirement; do we plan financially to support God’s work in our parish community? In gratitude for the gifts we receive from God, 33% of our registered families and those visiting made a joyful return to the Lord to assist in the support of God’s work in our parish community. Let’s increase this participation to 100%.
New Members: We are delighted to have you join our parish family! Registration forms are available in the narthex and in the parish office. They can be mailed, turned into the parish office, or dropped in the collection basket. Come by the church office for a Welcome Packet. Mass Intentions: Please stop by the parish office to offer a Mass intention for a loved one. Baptism: Family must be registered and participate in the life of the Parish. For more information on specific requirements, baptismal preparation, class dates and available Baptism dates, contact the parish office.
Matrimony: Arrangements must be made at least six months prior to the wedding date. Couples must schedule an appointment with the parish priest to secure a date on the parish calendar and begin preparation. Hospital/Homebound/Nursing Homes: Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion take communion to the homebound. Family members should call the parish office to inform us about those who are ill.
Altar Flower Donations: To honor or memorialize a loved one with a gift of altar flowers, call or stop by the parish office. Arrangements are $75.
Bulletin and Pulpit Announcements: Items to be published in the bulletin or announced during Mass are due in the parish office by 9:00AM on FRIDAY the week before they are to be published.

Grief Support Group: Caring and Sharing Companions Beginning Saturday October 20, we will start a companioning group for those who have lost a loved one. The support group will be held on Saturday mornings from 9:30 - 11:00 for 10 weeks. We will meet in the education building. Whether you lost someone recently, or several years ago, and are still grieving for them, we are here to listen and help walk with you, to give you support and comfort. We are here to help you come to terms with your loss

We are blessed to have Geneva Tigue as our speaker this year. She is a Catholic Worship Leader,
Songwriter and Speaker. She attended Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. She is fluent in
Spanish and has done missionary work with Catholic and Protestant groups. She, along with Greg
Ferrara, has led worship at the Archdiocese of Atlanta Eucharistic Congress. She states that her heart
overflows when the Lord gives her the opportunity to share her gifts of song and counsel and sees the
Holy Spirit at work.

A little history on SVdP. Saint Vincent de Paul was the founder of
many organizations to help the poor in France in the early
1600’s. Blessed Fredric Osanam established SVdP in Paris in 1833 to
help feed and care for the needy. In 1845, SVdP was established in St
Louis, Missouri and it is still the national headquarters in the US.
Today there are over 700,000 “Vincentians” in 142 different countries.
In 1903 the first conference was established in Atlanta, and in May
2001 our conference here at St Matthew was established. Thanks you
for all your support of our conference. Our next meeting will be
Monday Oct 22 at 7 PM in Hedges Hall. Our help line number is 770
