95-ME2

Amatrol’s 95-ME2 Mechanical Drives 2 Learning System adds to either the 950-ME1 or 950-ME1-SB Mechanical Drives 1 Learning System to teach heavy-duty mechani-cal transmission components and systems. Students will learn industry-relevant skills

including how to: operate, install, analyze performance, maintain, troubleshoot, and design heavy duty mechanical transmission systems using chain, V-belt, and direct

coupled shaft drive components.

The model 95-ME2 includes four storage panels with components to set up drive systems with conventional V-belts, multiple belts, multiple

chains, silent chain, wedge belts, timing belts, HTD belts, kiss idlers, variable pitch sheaves, 3 types of bushings, lubrication, indicator align-

ment, 5 types of couplings, student learning materials for both theory and lab, and teacher’s guide. Most components are conveniently stored on panels with silk-screened outlines that attach to the 950-ME1 Workstation, enabling students to quickly locate and return them to their stored locations. Other components are stored in the industrial-quality tool storage cabinet located at one end of the 950-ME1’s workstation. This system uses industrial quality components to help assure that students are better prepared for what they will encounter on the job and to withstand frequent student use.

Additional Required Items-Mechanical Drives 1 Learning System (either Model

950-ME1 or Model 950-ME1-SB)

Wide Range of Components - The 95-ME2 combines with the 950-ME1 to provide a wider range of compo-nents than ever before. The 95-ME2 adds 5 new types of couplings (7 total) and 5 types of belt drives (total 6)

to prepare students for the varied types of mechanical systems they will encounter on the job.

Heavy Duty Components - The 95-ME2 builds on the 950-ME1’s fractional horsepower style components, commonly sup-plied in light duty applications, by providing heavy duty style mechanical transmission components, which are more com-monly used in indus-trial applications. Examples include: multiple belt and chain drives, sheaves and sprockets with bushings, gear and grid couplings, and silent chain drives.

Industrial Alignment Methods - Students will learn alignment methods such as the reverse indicator method, which enable them to align equipment to the precise tolerances needed for effi cient operation of today’s machines. This method is also the basis for laser alignment techniques, which is an option to the 95-ME2.
