Zebra Technologies will exhibit its latest solutions for increased visibility, transparency and productivity with a focus on mobility, cloud and the Internet Of Things (IoT) at the 35th edition of

GITEX Technology Week 2015.The company’s portfolio for

retail, healthcare, manufacturing and transportation and logistics (T&L) includes asset-tracking solutions including card and barcode printers, mobile computing, data capture and wireless LAN to complement RFID, real-time locating systems and Zatar, the vendor’s cloud-based IoT platform.

In 2015, Zebra released the results of a study that revealed the vast majority of business decision makers understand and are in the process of deploying IoT as part of their business strategy.

Forrester Consulting conducted

the study last year on behalf of Zebra Technologies, and surveyed IT and business decision makers in nearly 600 global firms in the retail, consumer products, manufacturing, transportation, government, oil/gas, healthcare, and hospitality industries.

Some of the key findings from the study are as below:

• Global firms recognise the transformational role of IoT solutions.

• Strong IoT solution deployment momentum among global firms.

• Wi-Fi, real-time location tracking, and security sensors are important elements of IoT solutions.

With the theme, ‘Your Security Connected,’ HID Global’s involvement at GITEX 2015 will highlight its identity and access management (IAM) solutions which include smart applications, smart devices and smart technology.

The company’s participation will also see the demonstrations of its security solutions that are designed to address enterprises, banking, and the government sector.

Nat Pisupati, Regional Sales Director, Identity and Access Management, Middle East and

Africa, HID Global, says, “For 2015, we believe conversations will revolve around mobility, wearables and the Internet of Things. These topics are connected on multiple levels, and one of the unifying concerns is security. We aim to leverage GITEX to showcase solutions including ActivID Tap Authentication for Microsoft services.”

As interest in mobile access is growing, HID Global will also demonstrate its HID Mobile Access solution, which leverages Bluetooth

Smart and NFC to open doors via smartphones and other smart devices.

“This is our fifth consecutive year of participation at GITEX, and we aim to create broader awareness of the advanced solutions that we have to offer. Security and identity access management are hot topics today, and we are eager to help organisations address any requirements or challenges they may have,” Pisupati adds.

HID Global’s stand will be at Hall 2 Stand: B2-4.

where and how work gets done, giving them a new level of freedom, flexibility and choice by providing instant, secure access to all apps, desktops, data and services from any device over any network.

What technology or business trend is Citrix tracking in the next 18 months? With the rapid emergence of new devices and app platforms, combined with the explosion in consumerization, mobility and BYOD initiatives, organizations in the Middle East must find a way to manage and secure the diversity of today’s IT environments. This means that today, organizations are looking for technology solutions that address all of their enterprise mobility needs, ranging from device

Citrix...management to native mobile apps for e-mail, web access, collaboration and data sharing, as well as desktop virtualization for seamless access to Windows apps and desktops.

Gitex allows us to tell the Citrix story and demonstrate the positive impact that Citrix technology can make on organisations across the Middle East.

What’s been Citrix’s focus and business strategy for the Middle East this year? Technology is integral to the Middle East’s dynamic economic growth and this is an incredibly exciting time for the region. Companies across all sectors are beginning to realize the benefits of virtualisation, mobility management

and network optimisation. Citrix has enabled customers throughout the region, across oil and gas, financial services, healthcare, telecommunications and public sectors, to adopt virtualisation, mobility management and network optimisation solutions to transform the workplace.

Further, channel partners are imperative to Citrix success across the region and as such, Citrix has increased its commitment to the channel through the Citrix Partner Growth Plan – a multi-year initiative delivering significant incremental opportunity and profit to committed partners in markets whose technology focus is on virtualization, mobility and/or networking. This plan is comprised of four pillars: an enhanced CSA

program with Specialist track as its cornerstone, greater field collaboration, strengthened partner enablement and robust marketing demand generation.

The program enables partners to earn greater rewards, establish a competitive advantage in new and established markets and grow revenue by selling Citrix products and solutions that empower people to work and collaborate from anywhere and securely access apps and data on any of the latest devices, as easily as they would in their own office.

Therefore, our focus has been on introducing our new and improved program and bringing partners up to speed on our expanding portfolio of products and solutions.

What will you be doing special at this year’s Gitex and what are you showcasing?Effective October 18, 2015, ARM, the leading speciality distributor of cyber security and digital forensics solutions, has been rebranded as Credence Security. The purpose of this rebranding exercise, which includes a new logo, is to better reflect Credence’s position as one of the most trusted providers of cyber security, digital forensics and

IT security solutions in the Middle East, Africa and India regions. So a key focus for us will be to highlight this rebranding.

In parallel, we have also signed partnerships with a number of vendors that will be making their first forays in to the Middle East market – these include Digital Guardian, eSentire, Popcorn Training and Experian so we will be highlighting their latest solutions and capabilities.

If you have participated at Gitex before, what is the relevance of this show to your business in the region? This is the first time we will be participating at GITEX

If this is your first time, what are the reasons for participating? For us, as a leading provider of cyber security, digital forensics and IT security solutions in the Middle East, Africa and

India regions, I cannot stress enough the importance of GITEX – this is especially true this year since we only just announced our rebranding as Credence Security. We see GITEX as a platform to raise our brand awareness as well as signal our commitment to helping regional enterprises combat the growing security threats.

Does Gitex help you connect with your customers and partners?Absolutely! Just about anyone and everyone in the IT community comes to GITEX and to that end it provides us (and our vendors) an unparalled opportunity to meet with customers and partners (both existing and new)

What kind of IT trends do you expect to have an impact on the regional ICT industry over the next 12-18 months? For one, I think security is definitely

going to be at the forefront of any IT discussion and to that end, I see a focus on cyber security, Incident Response and building of in-house Forensics capabilities. I also expect to see the merging of technologies to form a single platform (vendor/technology acquisitions to build up a more rounded offering) – this is something we have seen with a number of vendors over the last 3 years, so now it down to see which vendors can merge the technology into a single stable platform the fastest!

Do you have plans to come back to the show next year?Absolutely! As I mentioned previously, there really isn’t a better venue to showcase our solutions and capabilities and meet with customers and partners. In fact we plan to not only exhibit at GITEX 2016 but also participate in GISEC 2016.

Credence to showcase security portfolio at GITEX

Palo Alto is participating in GITIEX for the third consecutive year and has come this year with a new focus – AutoFocus. The AutoFocus threat intelligence cloud service, initially made available in April 2015 as a community access offering, provides users with the shared intelligence, analytics, and context required to understand which attacks require immediate response, as well as the ability to make threat indicators actionable and prevent future attacks.

“Our goal,” explains Saeed Agha, General Manager at Palo Alto Networks Middle East, “is create architecture that will make the unknown known.” This architecture, he goes on, needs to empower businesses to manages and counter-act threats. But moreover, he says, the key is in prevention.

To further the spread of intelligence, revealed that the UAE chapter of FUEL User Group is launching during the GITEX Technology Week. Agha says, “The UAE chapter of Fuel

further reinforces Palo Alto Networks commitment to the region and to empowering and educating security professionals across the Middle East.”

The Palo Alto Networks Fuel User Group (Fuel) is a community of technology professionals responsible for securing information and critical infrastructure who come together to collaborate and grow their knowledge and careers. Fuel members are able to influence and shape the future of cybersecurity through meaningful

online and in-person engagement with peers and industry experts. Members have access to valuable leadership opportunities and educational resources to further their knowledge and careers.

Palo Alto is all too aware of the importance of participating in trade shows such as GITEX. “We are excited to be here.” says Agha. “It is a great time to connect with partners and peers.” In addition to new technologies, Palo Alto is coming to GITEX this year with the aim of positioning itself as a thought leader.

What will you be doing special at this year’s Gitex and what are you showcasing? We are very excited that Accenture is the exclusive digital transformation partner for GITEX. Accenture is teaming with the event organizers to deliver compelling, industry-leading insights on how digital technology and the Internet of Things are transforming businesses and governments in the region, as well as globally. Our chief technology officer, Paul Daugherty, will address the opening day’s session,

‘GTX Ignite’, while other local and global leaders from Accenture will present on intelligent cities, the Industrial Internet of Things and digital healthcare. We’re also partnering with Etisalat to showcase three exciting Accenture demos in their booth to highlight how the Internet of Things can transform the fashion retail experience, the automotive manufacturing sector, and improve the lives of people with severe mobility restrictions. Accenture will also be operating digital walls around the

event venue to display all the social media buzz around GITEX.

If you have participated at Gitex before, what is the relevance of this show to your business in the region?

The theme of this year’s event emphasizes the speed and scale of the impact that the Internet of Things and other digital technologies are having on companies, customers and governments - not just in the GCC but across the world. One of our businesses very active in this region is Accenture Digital, where we are working with many organizations to solve operational problems through innovation, enabled by new digital technologies. This approach can drive better outcomes for citizens, patients, students, employees and customers, who are becoming less tolerant of limitations imposed by institutional boundaries, legacy inefficiencies and bureaucracy.

Does Gitex help you connect with your customers and partners? GITEX is always a great forum to come together with other industry leaders, technology vendors, and clients to share insights and experiences in a collaborative environment, and showcase some of the leading edge innovation that our region is witnessing. It is impressive to see the scale of progress that is made year over year.

What kind of IT trends do you expect to have an impact on the regional ICT industry over the next 12-18 months? As part of our annual global technology outlook, we’ve identified five technology trends that will re-shape markets by creating new digital ‘ecosystems’. They include the personalization of the internet—Internet of Me; a shift in focus from selling things to selling results in an Outcome Economy; digital platforms that help build next-generation products and services in the Platform (R)evolution; intelligent software embedded across the enterprise, creating the Intelligent Enterprise; and intelligent machines and devices working alongside employees as a Workforce Reimagined.

Our research shows that the pace of technology adoption in this region is increasing, organizations are actively investing in and assessing digital technologies, and are seeing a positive return on their investment. An interesting finding that stands out is the degree to which Middle East respondents expect industry boundaries to blur as technology platforms reshape industries into more interconnected ecosystems – higher than in any other country we surveyed.

Do you have plans to come back to the show next year?Accenture has an agreement with DWTC to continue to be the exclusive digital transformation partner of GITEX Technology Week for a couple of years to come. We are excited about this long-term partnership and look forward to the show next year.
