5th Sunday of Lent "Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her."
Jesus did not deny the Scribes and Pharisees the right to carry out this prescrip-
tion of the Law, but he insisted on one condition, namely, that they have no sin
on their consciences. When Jesus and the woman were left alone, he looked up
and said, "Woman, where are they?" Ironically, the self-righteous observers of
the Law, so eager to throw stones, could not measure up to the requirement
that Jesus had laid down.

DoNUT volunteer
Sacred Heart has put in a standing order with the
Perfect Donuts shop to insure that we have donuts
each week after Sunday Masses. We need a volun-
teer to pick up the donuts each week. There is a
sing up sheet by the counter in the parish hall.
There will also be a box for donations to help de-
fray the cost.
Soup and Stations will be held each Wednesday night during Lent.
Soup will be at 5:30 pm with stations beginning at 7:00 pm. A sign up
sheet will be in the vestibule for volunteers who would like to bring
soup.
In preparation for the confirmation candidates day of reflection I am
reaching out to the parish in search of the following items: an old
television (rabbit ear style) that still works, it does not have to get
channels it just has to make static; Several pieces or one large piece of
heavy rope (the style used for docking large boats); a pair of worn out
or heavily used leather sandals; and a larger mirror (2x3), framed or not
framed does not matter. If you are able to help with these items please
drop them by the parish office with your name and contact number
attached to the item or contact Jane Fryer at 528-2810 for pick up. We
will be needing them by Sunday, April 3rd.
