On some other exciting news, our new preps for 2019
start transition this week on Thursday 8th Nov. This is
always an exciting time of the year as we see the next
generation of students come through and prepare for
their first year at school. Some children are siblings
and are well versed in the way school runs, the play
grounds, classrooms and teachers and for some it is
their and their families first experience with the
schooling system. We welcome them all and look
forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
Have a great weekend,

Principals Report
Hello everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed your mid term break and had
some time to either get away and relax or stay home
and catch up on things. For those of you who may
have had a bet on The Melbourne Cup, I hope you
came out with a win or two. It is a lovely time of the
year, with the days becoming longer to allow us and
the kids to get outside for longer.
This weekend was the Whittlesea Show and our
students have done very well with their art and
writing pieces. This year was the first year we have
entered our media art pieces and the judges love
what we do with our students, coming first, and two
third placings in the Primary School Photography
section. Our Media Arts program exposes our
students to such a modern form of art, and develops
very modern skills in the manipulation and
imaginative digital world. Another outstanding result
was in the Primary School 3D model section where
students created something a little different,
sculpturing with foil and students again coming first,
two second and two third placings. I love teaching
art to our students because each and every lesson I
am amazed at their skill, talent and creativeness. It’s
such an exciting subject to teach. Each student
getting the same brief, yet their end art work can be
so unique!
Congratulations to all students who entered art work
or writing pieces! The following is a list of award
winners this year.
We will be presenting our ribbon and award winners
with their prizes at Gudjinna this Monday 12th
Nov.
Please come along and celebrate with us!

Hey all,
Last week in STEM we tried to tackle one of the biggest contributors to climate change. Check out what we did on the S.T.E.M. blog: http://sugarloafstem.global2.vic.edu.au/category/weekly-s-t-e-m-summary/
