8th Grade Washington, DC Trip
May 1st-3rd, 2013
Wednesday - Friday
SAFETY
• Bus: 4-5 teachers per bus
• No Unsupervised “free” Time
• Touring: 1:8 student teacher ratio
• Sleeping: 4 students per room– Chaperone assigned to monitor room– Security provided
Transportation
• Constitution Coach buses
• Teachers and students will travel and tour together by team
• Buses are only form of transportation used during trip
Lodging • National 4-H Youth Conference Center in Chevy
Chase, Maryland. (located 10 minutes outside Washington DC)
• 4-H Center is college dormitory style lodging with students sleeping 4 to a room.
• Students will be guaranteed one choice in a roommate and be assigned two others from their teams.
• Each room has 4 beds and private bathroom• Teacher rooms are located with student rooms• Security provided by 4-H Center
Meals
• Breakfast and Dinner included– Cafeteria style– Variety of meals and food provided
• 3 lunches and 1 dinner “on your own” (included in spending money)

*All absences except for religious holidays will be part of goal calculation.

*any student with 1s on the report card cannot receive any academic investment points.
*any student who receives 0 Academic Investment points for any 2 quarters is not eligible for the 4 quarter reward.

From the Nurse
• All parents must have MD signed form for Tylenol/Motrin and permission to treat in an emergency
• All other meds- allergy, epi-pens, inhalers, etc. need to have the MD sign the last medical form in the packet.
• Each medication needs a separate form.
Cost of the Trip• Total Cost: $300
– Includes coach bus transportation– Includes accommodations at the National 4-H
Center, Chevy Chase, MD– Includes 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners– Includes admission to the Newseum– All other attractions are free of charge
• Additional Costs: Approx. $60– Includes 2 lunches; 2 dinners (cafes / fast food)
Payment Schedule• Dec. 3, 2012: $50 refundable deposit and
permission slip due.• Feb. 1, 2013: $100 non-refundable payment.• March 1, 2013: $100 non-refundable payment due.• April 1, 2013 Final Payment: $50 non-
refundable payment due.• Student spending money: up to you.• Payments through installments are welcome.• All payments must be paid in MONEY ORDERS,
BANK CHECKS, or CASH

Others to follow• Profits of each sale go towards the cost of
