CORSAREALSTYLEThe way you look is important, right? Our designers
feel the same way. They believe that if something
looks right, it is right. Corsa style is athletic and
dynamic, with clean edges and brilliant colour
choices. Check out the detailing too – the jewel-effect
headlights, clear indicator lenses and dark-style tail
lights. Fact is, Corsa looks great from any angle.

The only way you’re ever going to know what Corsa is like to
drive is to try it for yourself. But in the meantime, have a think
about this. We’ve carefully tuned the chassis for a comfortable
ride and secure, agile roadholding. The steering has speed-
sensitive power assistance, giving you more help when you
need it most. And every Corsa engine – petrol or diesel –
matches plenty of punch with remarkable fuel economy. So
book yourself a test drive. And put the fun back into driving.
Think technology
At the risk of getting all technical on you,
each Corsa engine – petrol or diesel –
uses multi-valve technology with two
overhead camshafts. The Twinport petrol
engines combine a variable intake
manifold with a high rate of exhaust gas
recirculation for strong power delivery
and outstanding fuel economy. And the
1.3CDTi 16v common rail diesel uses ultra-
high pressure fuel injection to produce
high power and torque, incredible fuel
efficiency and Euro 4 emissions control.
If you’d rather talk about figures, models
fitted with the 1.3CDTi 16v engine have
achieved an incredible 76.3mpg in
government tests! And every Corsa
can run up to 20,000 miles or one year
between services, keeping running
costs even lower.
Keep control
If your wheels lock up under emergency
braking, your tyres simply slide on the
road out of your control. By preventing
your wheels locking up, anti-lock brakes
can reduce your stopping distance,
particularly on slippery road surfaces,
and help you keep control of the steering
too. So you can steer out of danger. You
can see why we’ve fitted it as standard
on all models.
Steer clear
Corsa power steering is speed-sensitive,
so you get more help at slow speeds –
like parking or manoeuvring – and better
feedback once you’re out on the road.
A high steering ratio gives the car a
dynamic feel and sharp handling. And
because the Corsa system is powered by
a small electric motor rather than the car’s
engine, it won’t harm your fuel economy
either, so it’s good for your bank balance;
and good for the environment too!
It’s so Easytronic
When it comes to transmissions, Corsa
goes for a three-way choice – five-speed
manual, four-speed automatic or five-
speed Easytronic, a manual and automatic
all rolled into one; you just nudge the
lever left to switch modes on the move.
In Automatic mode it has all the main
features of a regular automatic, right
down to the kickdown function. And in
Manual, you just nudge the lever forward
or back to shift gears up or down.
With Easytronic, there’s no need for a
clutch pedal – so you can drive it on an
automatic-only licence.
Talk about smart. Pull up sharply and it
won’t stall. Press the ‘Winter’ button, and
it helps you avoid wheelspin in slippery
conditions. The facia display tells you what
gear you’re in – 1 to 5 or (A) for Auto. And
in Neutral (N), it even warns you if you
open the door without the brake pedal
depressed or handbrake on.

We reckon you’re going to be spending a lot of time in your Corsa, so we’ve
spent a lot of time on the interior design. And it’s not just the sophisticated
mix of textures and fabrics, it’s the fact that it works so hard to keep you in
the comfort zone. The seats are easy on your back and there’s plenty of room
for long legs and broad shoulders. The stereo’s got all the latest features in
easy-to-reach places. And there’s no need to worry about safety and security,
either. We wouldn’t settle for less. And we certainly don’t expect you to.

Reach out
Ergonomics is a long word for a very simple concept. Basically
it means that Corsa was carefully designed around real people.
It means you can find a safe, comfortable seating position – and
keep it. You can see the instruments without straining your neck.
And reach the heating controls without… well… reaching. And
the best bit? Because we’ve worked it all out so beautifully, you
won’t even realise it. Which is how it should be.
Stay cool
We all know air-conditioning helps you stay cool on hot days,
but did you know that it dehumidifies the atmosphere inside
your car? So your windows demist faster on wet days and your
interior feels fresher the whole year round. If you add optional
Electronic Climate Control (ECC) – as part of the Plus pack on
Design models – you can set your preferred interior temperature
right down to the last degree. The fact that ECC also comes with
a Solar Reflect® windscreen shows a little more lateral thinking
on our part.
Take care
How often did your parents tell you to be careful? We’ve got your
best interests at heart, too. We don’t believe that buying a small
car should mean short measures when it comes to safety – or
security for that matter. So every Corsa has anti-lock brakes,
a driver’s airbag, our unique pedal release system and full lap
and diagonal seatbelts for all three rear seat passengers. When
it comes to security measures, there’s remote control central
locking on virtually every model and an engine immobiliser as
standard throughout.
Listen up
We know in-car audio is important to you. That’s why every Corsa
comes with a quality audio system. Our CD 30 stereo radio/CD
player is standard on virtually every model. And the optional
systems add even more exciting features, like MP3 playback
and DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast), a facia-mounted six-disc CD
autochanger and intelligent satellite navigation functions. Design,
SXi and SXi+ models (and all optional systems) also come with
steering wheel mounted audio controls. The ability to change the
station, volume, CD track or more without taking your hands off
the wheel – or your eyes off the road – wasn’t only designed to
impress your friends. But it probably will.

is the final ingredient for the perfect driving position
