New Releases

2018 Red Baron ShirazA crowd favourite which perfectly accompanies almost any occasion, Red Baron showcases a signature big ball of juicy plums and red cherry fruits that lead into the strawberry and cream mid palate. The fresh, vibrant and youthful tannins carry hints of roasted nuts and dark chocolate.

2019 Sauvignon Blanc“Savvy B” quickly rose to fame due to the ease of drinking and aromatic, refreshing tropical fruit characters. Fox Creek Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from a single vineyard site, located on the Cellar Door property. Tropical flavours are met by a luscious and juicy mid palate of peach and nectarine, that finish with lemon zest and a crisp balanced acidity.

2019 VermentinoWith origins from Italy’s Sardinia, Vermentino thrives in McLaren Vale’s mediterranean climate where it ripens while retaining natural acidity. Fox Creek Vermentino showcases crisp and refreshing characters of grapefruit, lychee and white nectarine, followed by golden peach, mandarin and apricot that carry through to a bright crisp finish. A fantastic match to antipastos, shellfish, fresh Vietnamese salads and will even complement foods with a little spice.

Arctic Raspberry RoyaleServings: 1 | Difficulty: Easy

This delicious cocktail is a twist on a Kir Royale. The jam, lemon juice and gin serve as a lovely fruity and floral base. Use a good quality jam as it is a key flavour. The lovely effervescent crispness of the Arctic Fox accentuates the florals from the gin and raspberries. Lemon juice balances out the sweetness of the raspberry jam with a fresh citrus taste. More florals hit the palate from the gin and each element comes together to produce a delightful drink for any occasion.

A New Partnership for Fox CreekFox Creek are thrilled to announce our exciting

new partnership with Two Accents Gin!

As a child British born Laurie Bilby lived on Guernsey, an island off the coast of Normandy where she spent part of her childhood helping her grandmother make sloe gin. It was the beginning of a life-long dream. Laurie relocated to Adelaide in 2010 and met Aussie partner Adam. Their mutual love for all things gin and our beautiful region, McLaren Vale, inspired Laurie and Adam to put their heads together and produce their craft gins. Named after Laurie and Adam’s two accents their gin was launched.

Fox Creek Cellar Door, in addition to our traditional guided wine tasting, will now feature ‘Gin Flights’ - a discovery of Two Accents three delicious flavoured gins, including their delightful ‘Shiraz Gin’ which has the perfect addition of our very own Short Row Shiraz! ‘Gin Flights’ will be available every weekend starting in November. A tasting fee of $18 applies and bookings are essential. For your own experience with our Two Accents ‘Gin Flight’ please contact Cellar Door Manager, Georgy on [email protected] .

What I'll be Drinking this Christmas

Christmas lunch with my family tends to be a noisy, boisterous affair with everyone sharing great food, conversation and of course, wine. We usually start with seafood, such as prawns and oysters, washed down with a chilled glass of our Arctic Fox Grand Cuvée or Vermentino.

Although the weather can be quite warm on Christmas day, we still like to serve roast beef, turkey and ham for mains but rather than accompany them with roast vegetables we serve a large array of salads. This food combination matches really well with our Limited Release Grenache and Postmaster GSM.

These lighter styles of red wines complement all types of meats as well as lighter foods including fresh salad and vegetables. Don’t be afraid to lightly chill the reds if the weather is on the warmer side as it takes the edge off and can make the wine more approachable on a summer’s afternoon. Merry Christmas and Bon Appétit!

Welcome Zoe Alice!

Congratulations to our Sales & Marketing Manager, James Carman, on the safe delivery of his beautiful daughter. Zoe Alice made her ‘great escape’ on 15th August, weighing in at 3.7Kgs (8lb, 2.5oz). James, wife Sarah and son William are smitten. We are delighted to welcome Zoe to the Fox Creek family.

Have You Met Georgy?

The apple does not fall far from the tree and this is certainly the case with Georgy Rogers. One of Helen & Jim Watts’ three daughters and four children, not only did Georgy follow her mother into the field of nursing (still working part-time at a surgery), she also followed her parents into the wine industry, where she is now our Cellar Door Manager. The “Human Tornado” as she is known around the office, Georgy is forever, quite literally running from place to place - from Cellar Door to the surgery, from the winery to kids sport and so on. Georgy also loves to travel both overseas and within Australia so she has a chance to slow down. Georgy is the driving force behind everything Cellar Door, our exhibitions and events (the next being Shakespeare in

the Vines). A foodie and strong supporter of local produce, Georgy ensures Cellar Door visitors are well catered for – the latest addition, vegan cheeses to accompany our vegan friendly wines. She has also just partnered up with ‘Two Accents’ Gin so from early November you will be able to book in for guided educational flights where you get to try different gins with a variety of garnishes. We also host small private events at Cellar Door and Georgy ensures that every detail is attended to. Pull together some friends, pre-book a gin tasting at Cellar Door and come say “Hello”.

Twilight MusicFox Creek Cellar Door

Sunday 10 November

2pm – 7pm

The Groove Garden is coming to our Cellar Door for an afternoon of fun. The notorious Samra and her moveable feast of sensory delights, ‘The Groove Garden’ will be at Fox Creek from 2 till 7pm on 10th November. There will be an open microphone available for anyone to jam from 2pm, then at 4.30pm you can listen to special guests Steve Brown & Dave Rhodes (pictured above). Long-time members of the popular ‘Steve Brown Band’, Steve and Dave have partnered to present all their favourite Blues, Roots and Country tunes with soulful uplifting vocals interwoven with acoustic guitar mastery. Then Paul Irving and ‘The Chards’ present a special preview of their soon to be released album, ‘Ride On’ - a collection of original songs written by Paul and recorded with his band ‘The Chards’ over several years. Paul has immersed himself deeply in contemporary rock, pop and country from the past 30-odd years. His new, catchy, powerful songs feel like they were always meant to be and it is obvious that they are a deeply felt labour of love with Irving and ‘The Chards’ sense of drama and dynamics propelling it along.

Food, wine & beer will be available to purchase. Bring your blanket or chair. $10 entry – tickets available at the door. No BYO please.
