The difference between Kingsford...and everything else.

Smoky Flavors from Kingsford

Kingsford Original Charcoal has been the gold standard of grilling for nearly 100 years. If you are looking for some unique smoky flavors this summer, try the Applewood, Mesquite, and Hickory flavors!

Kingsford Charcoal with Applewood provides a light, delicious smoke flavor to your favorite foods. That’s because each briquet contains high-quality applewood — ideal for poultry, pork and more.

Kingsford Charcoal with Mesquite gives you more of that smoky mesquite taste in your favorite barbecued foods. That’s because each briquet contains high-quality mesquite wood that infuses your food with an unbeatable smoky taste.

Add just the right touch of sweet and hearty flavor to your charcoal grilling experience with real hickory. Kingsford Charcoal with Hickory is the perfect complement to your pork, poultry, beef or game.

BECAUSE FLAVOR IS KING.

W H Y K I N G S F O R D ?

1110 1110

If you want authentic, robust and smoky flavor, it’s got to be Kingsford. The reason why no one says, “gotta love that propane taste” is because that’s not a real thing. Only Kingsford Charcoal produce the consistent, full-flavored BBQ that has your neighbors sniffing out the “cue-linary” creations cooking and coming over uninvited.

Kingsford coals burn hotter than gas and longer than wood. While charcoal can be a little messy and takes longer to prep, this is BBQ folks! Proper grilling takes time and patience.

Grilling is about the process. The process is sometimes just as important as the finished product. That’s why when you’re hosting your BBQ it’s not always about what’s on your grill, but who’s around it.

Using Kingsford Charcoal ensure that you savor every savory moment with family and friends. The fact that it also produces the perfect, smoky morsels is a plus. Okay, a BIG plus.

That’s why Kingsford has remained the #1 Charcoal brand in the country. If there was a secret to grilling, the secret’s out and on the shelves at your local grocery store.

Yes, the best in charcoal was decided a long time ago, however, the Best in Barbecue has yet to be determined. The annual Kingsford Invitational calls together Five Grand Champion teams and one hand-selected team from New York to compete for $50,000 and the chance to be crowned the King of Barbecue.

For news and updates about the Kingsford Invitational follow Kingsford Charcoal on Facebook.

Every time there’s a cookout, everyone crowds around the grill “just to see” (or be seen). Well, prepare to impress. With a spatula as your scepter and grill as your round table, show your friends who’s the King of the Grill. Take charge of your cookouts this summer and become a Burgermaster using these steps from the authority on grilling.

1. Selecting Your Grind

It’s important to remember that with burgers, fat = flavor. When you shop for meat, select Ground Beef with about an 80/20 blend. For a leaner, yet still full-flavored burger, you can choose 93% lean Ground Beef or Leaner and add egg white and ¼ cup of breadcrumbs to help accentuate the juiciness and flavor.

2. Season & Form

Some say a “dash will do,” but we don’t subscribe to that. For bold flavor it’s best to put a liberal dusting on your ground beef blend and mix it tenderly into your chuck. Once seasoned and blended, gently form patties, carefully ensuring that you don’t overwork the Ground Beef since over handling can actually result in a dryer burger.

3. Adding an Indentation

Over the course of grilling, burgers tend to shrink in size and balloon up in the middle. After forming your patties, take your thumb and press an indentation in the middle of the burger to ensure it keeps an even shape while over the flames.

4. Par for the Char

Use two-zone cooking at 400°F to ensure that 1) your burger is perfectly browned on both sides – this will lock in the flavor and juiciness; 2) after browning, let rest on the cooler side of the grill until burger reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.

5. Don’t Flip Out

The best practice is to let your burgers cook uninterrupted for approximately 4-5 minutes on both sides. Flip only once and don’t push too hard on those patties. Pushing down on your patty and watching the fat burn up in the flames might look cool, but it’ll leave you with a dry, rugged burger.

6. Take a Breather

Yes, you’re anxious to taste what you’ve been smelling, but great taste is worth waiting for. After cooking is completed and you have removed the patties from the grill, give your burgers a rest for about 3-5 minutes to let the juices redistribute within the burger.

7. You are now a Burgermaster

Congratulations! You have graduated burger school with a degree in deliciousness. You’re now prepared to formulate mouthwatering burgers with the recipes that set you apart from the novice grillers who claim to make the perfect burgers. Time to impress some friends who will feast on the spoils of your BBQ pit. Wear that apron with pride and show everyone that you are the King of the Grill.

Cattlemen’s Statement of Principles

Did you know that 54% of U.S. cattle farms and ranches have been in the samefamily for three generations?**

FROM FARM TOFORK AND SEED TO SIP

For generations, cattle ranchers and ranching families have helped sustain the American people and cultivate an American identity.

They have harnessed an identity that stands for industry, tradition, safety and relentless pursuit of exceptional quality.

Raised Responsibly

Since 1898, the beef community has a shared commitment to care for animals and make the best use of natural resources to ensure a sustainable future. Farmers and ranchers work hard every day to raise beef they are proud to serve their families and yours.

Industry Built on Principles

The Beef Checkoff’s commitment to quality is the driving force behind establishing a Statement of Principles that define cattle ranchers’ mission as it relates not only to raising exceptional beef, but also preserving the environment and their livestock.

Vision for the Future

Using these pillars as foundation, cattle ranchers and the larger beef industry are constantly innovating practices to ensure processes on their farm translate into a higher quality product for American families.

Cultivated the American Way

The over 100-year relationships Anheuser-Busch has cultivated and maintained with American farmers allow the historic brewer to have access to the highest quality hops in the industry.

The world’s finest beers, requires the world’s finest ingredients.

Our Elk Mountain Farm in Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho, where the over 1,700-acre hop fields are maintained, is famous for growing hops of exceptional quality. Located on the U.S.- Canadian Border, Elk Mountain Farm is an ideal hop-growing region because of the 16 hours of sunlight it receives during the summer. This environment provides a model climate and rich soil for hop cultivation.

Tradition of Quality

Anheuser-Busch is focused on quality and consistency. Introduced in 1876, each batch of Budweiser follows the same family recipe used by five generations of Busch family brewmasters. Thus, the practice of farming hops for the world-famous beer has been kept a family tradition since the 1800s.

A Purpose. A Passion. A Promise.

Although hop farming and cattle ranching represent different industries, it’s their commitment to quality and tireless effort that bond them. They help feed a nation and propel it forward. These long-running traditions make up the backbone of this country, establishing a strong foundation for a nation, and a formidable, lasting partnership.
