PROFILE AGRICULTURE IN INDONESIA •Indonesia is an archipelago country comprising approximately 17,508 islands, and only 6,000 of which are inhabited. The main island in Indonesia are Sumatera, Jawa, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua •The total land area is estimated about 1.92 millions square kilometers stretching for 5,150 kilometers between the Australia and Asian Continental mainland and dividing the Pacific and Indian Oceans at the Equator. •The government form is Republic consisting of 33 provinces, 498 districts with more than 742 native languages and based on the statistic data of year 2010, population of Indonesia approached 238 milion.
•Indonesia has two seasons (rainy and dry seasons) •Agriculture (food crops, horticulture, estate crops and livestock) still remains the core for rural household in Indonesia. The sector employs the largest share (45%) of Indonesia’s labor and its contribution to GDP is the second largest (35%).

INTRODUCTION
• Agricultural development, will remain exist and have a central role as the backbone of national economic development.
• Reliability of development of agriculture sector has been proven. When the economic crisis hit our country, the agricultural sector still grows up convincingly.
• Agricultural development principally is to develop agricultural human resources that has many advantages such as intelligence, skills, science and technology, management, leadership, capital, information relevance and position.
• These advantages can be achieved if the positive interaction between the farmers with agricultural extension occurred as a partner for farmers who implemented systemic and sustainable.

Most of farmers cultivated food and estate crops (81.95 %)
In average land owner : 0.41 ha in java and 0.96 ha in outside java; most of them have no land legal status
Number of farmer institution : 274.229 farmer groups, 28.304 village famer association , 10.527 farmer cooperatives, dan 1.365 commodity based farmer association.
The condition of farmer institution are not function as economic institution and accessibilities to get capital or economic facilitation access yet.

Cyber Extension is an extension of information systems
via the Internet, to support the provision of education and
information materials for the agricultural extension agent
in facilitating the learning process for the main actors and
agri-businesses.
