Dealing with Common Life Safety Code TagsSpeakers: Deborah Comerford, RN, BSN, CNOR, CASC, Riteway ASCQS Life Safety ManagementThis course is designed to provide information for ambulatory surgery centers seeking Medicare approval. CMS approved centers must meet minimum life safety code standards. The 2012 Life Safety Code adopted in November 2017 has upped the requirements for record keeping, inspections, and training. Information in the presentation discusses current life safety codes being enforced, what is required to meet the codes, and how to correctly document testing and drills. Commonly cited findings will be reviewed.Pending approval for AEU Credit by BASC

5. Setting up an Infection Control Program 101Speaker: Meg Stagliano RN BSN MBA, Surgical Care AffiliatesThis program is intended to provide new infection control nurses the content and tools necessary to be successful in their role. The course will highlight the job description of the infection control nurse versus the certified infection control consultant. The program will assist the learner in developing an infection control risk assessment and infection control plan. Monthly reporting tools and infection control rounds will be discussed.1 CE pending approval from AORN; Pending approval for AEU Credit by BASC; Pending approval for IPCH Credit by BASC

6. Employment Law/HR Updates and Changes in New Jersey – 2019Speaker: Matthew M. Collins, Esq., Member, Brach Eichler LLC The constant changes in the labor and employment laws make it increasingly difficult for employers to keep informed of their human resource related obligations. This is especially true in New Jersey where there have been significant changes under the current administration. Even unintentional violations of these laws can result in costly and time-consuming lawsuits and/or government audits and investigations. To protect your organization, it is critical that management keep informed of their legal duties and responsibilities. Participants in this course will get an update of the key labor and employment/HR updates and changes in New Jersey for 2019, as well as practical guidance for handling some of the more difficult challenges facing New Jersey employers.
