ICAR-CIFA organized a Joint Scientific Seminar on ‘Role of Rajbhasha
Hindi in Science Communication’ on January 10, 2019
The main goal of science communication is to bring scientific achievements of various
educational and research institutions to the masses in their own language and benefit them.
Rajbhasha Hindi is the one language through which this can be done
In this regard, on January 10, 2019, a joint Scientific Seminar was organized in Hindi on
the subject “Role of Rajbhasha Hindi in the Science Communication” at ICAR- Central Institute
of Freshwater Aquaculture , Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar.The seminar was jointly organized by
Education and Scientific Institutions situated in Bhubaneswar i.e., CSIR-Institute of Mineral
and Materials Technology, Institute of Life science, Institute of Physics, National Institute of
Science Education and Research, All India Institute of Medical Sciences. ICAR-CIFA and
ICAR-CIWA.
Dr. B. R. Pillai, Director, ICAR-CIFA chaired the inaugural session and highlighted the
fact that the maximum publication of scientific research work is done in English, whose access is
restricted to certain sections of society, while research is done for all sections of the society.
Therefore, she told that it is our moral obligation to reach the information generated by the
research institutions to the public and to make them benefit from scientific achievements.
Dr. Satyendra Kumar Singh, Project Director, Directorate of Knowledge Management in
Agriculture, ICAR, New Delhi, was the keynote speaker and he emphasized the necessity of
making technologies developed by different Institutes of ICAR available to the farmers in
Hindi as well as in regional language too.
In the inaugural function of the Seminar, Padmashree, Dr Ajay Kumar Parida, Director,
ILS ; Dr. Santosh Kumar Shrivastav, Director, ICAR-CIWA, Shri Rishi Kumar Rath, Registrar,
Institute of Physics; Dr. Abhay Kumar Nayak, Registrar, NISER; Dr. Shrikant Sharma, Chief
Scientist, CSIR-IMMT; Mr. B.B. Mishra, Registrar, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and
were also presented their valuable views on the subject
In this seminar, two technical sessions were organized in which 14 speakers presented
their research on various subjects in Hindi. The moderator of first technical session were Dr.
Manish kumar, Shri Bhagvan Behera and ShriD. Goswami . During this session Mr , Satya
Ranjan Sahu Scientist from IMMT presented paper on the subject Naam Mein Kya Rakha
Hain.; Dr. Arun Kumar from Niger on Hindi Bhasha-Vigyan Sanchar Ka Setu; Dr. Durg Vijay
Singh from ILS on Jiv Vigyan Prasar Mein Hindi Ki Bhumika; Dr. Himanshu Kumar De, PS,
from CIFA on Rajbhasha Hindi Mein Jalkrishi Ka Prasar CIFA Ki Pahal and Shri Ravinder
Sharma from AIIMS. on Vishwa Star Par Hindi.
The moderator of second technical session were Shri D.B.Singh, Shri T.B.Raju, Shri J.
Biswal and Shri Rabindra Sharma. In second technical session Mr. Makrand Siddabhitti from
the Institute of Physics gave a talk in Hindi on Vigyan, Sanchar Aur Parmanu Urja Vibhag;
Shri P. Sengupta from IMMT, on Tatviki Churno Se Tapsah Dhatumishr Dhatu Utpad Nirman-
Sampurn Prakriya Ka Singhavlokans; Dr. Saurabh Chawla from Niger, on Pashu Bhasha Aur
Sanchar-Vaigyanik Khoj Mein Mahtva : Dr. Manish Tayawade from AIIMS on Swachhta Ke
Prati Jagrukta Lane Mein Chikitsa Vigyan Aur Hindi Ki Bhumika ; Dr. P. N. Ananth, senior
scientist from CIFA on Krishi Vigyan Kendro Dwara Vigyan Sanchar Mein Hindi Ki Bhumika
and Dr. Anant sarkar From ICAR CIWA on Gender Sensitization Micro Lab Tool Ke Upyogita
Mein Hindi Bhasha Ka Prayog.
200 participants from the above mentioned seven educational and research Institutes
located in Bhubaneswar participated in this seminar . During the discussion in seminar, it was
resolved to organize such symposiums at a regular interval. The joint scientific seminar in Hindi
was coordinated by Sri. V. Ganesh Kumar, Administrative Officer, ICAR-CIFA and Dr.
Dhananjay Kumar Verma, in-charge Official Language and Seminar Convenor, Mr. I.B. Kumar,
Senior Administrative Officer and Co-Convenor and other members of the committee
contributed to organise the Joint Scientific Seminar in Hindi successfully.
