Synopsis

• Metro Iloilo Travel and tour was established on March 9, 2001 by Neil T. Javellana. It is located at ground floor Dona Maria Building, El 98 Street Jaro Iloilo City. The company focuses on selling and issuing ticket locally or internationally. The start was good, because there is only few ticketing office in Iloilo which make the airline companies recommend them to get customers. The problem only comes when there are delayed fights caused by natural events and incidents pertaining to the airport. Everything is good and stable but the company misses one point of having a business, and that is expansion and hiring more people even though the company has enough profit to expand.

•  • As of now, they have three employees handling every transaction which is

a hassle sometimes like before holidays and summer. The office changes a bit but for a long period of time, but it is still small and they still operate in with their old practices. As the time pass by, there are many people who engages in the same business which can be a treat for the company. If they will not expand, the competitors might become larger someday and trample them as it grows and they might be forgotten after that.

 Statement of the Problem

Metro Iloilo Travel and Tour have stable and good

operation but it misses the point that business needed to expand in order to gain more profit, because of its unchanging style of operation

even after fifteen years of operation. What can the manager do in order to gain more profit and face the other to gain more profit and face the

other competitors?

Page 5: A Case Study BY JESSIE KARL.pptx

Statement of the Objective

To know how to gain more profit after 15 years of unchanging operations

To know how will they compete with other

competitors without getting trampled over as the time passes over as time

passes due to their unchanging operators

Page 6: A Case Study BY JESSIE KARL.pptx

Statement of Area of Consideration  STRENGTH -They have been operating for a long period of time which makes them more

flexible and experience than other competitors-They are trusted by airline companies by the period of time that they are in

service-Many people know them better because of their length of services

WEAKNESSES -Old style of operation could be a weakness by the means of not adapting with

the changing society like not expanding while competitors do it-They don’t develop the idea of expanding and branching out which could

help them gain more profit-They have few employees which give them a hard time dealing with many

people

Page 7: A Case Study BY JESSIE KARL.pptx

OPPORTUNITIES -Holiday vacation gives them a good profit because there are many

ticket orders-Expansion is an opportunity because they are too ready after

fifteen years of steady operations and revenue growth-Airline recommendations is an opportunity by the trust that they

built because they are giving service longer than most of ticketing offices

THREATHS -New Competitors can be a loss of costumers-Competitors expansion, expansion means they will become bigger

and well known by the possibility of branching out and their increasing employee will attract more customers.

-Natural events and incidents such as war, storms, special events like papal visit etc. can cause flight delays which is not a good time for the company to gain profit

Statement of Conclusion

Metro Iloilo Travel and Tours is a good company that adapted in Chinese practices that having continuous

profit even if small is better than not having a profit at all. It is good, but if you have enough profit to expand, then why not expand and abandon the old practice of having a small continuous income? So the researcher of this case study concludes that a small continuous income might be a threat in the future if they did not change the way they operate and might be the reason

to be forgotten or trampled by other competitors. They need to adapt in an environment that changes every single day adapt with it rather than sticking with the orthodox view and rick being trampled.

Statement of Recommendation

The researcher of this case study strongly recommends the company’s expansion and adaption

with the changing society by making the working and adaption with the changing society by making the working area even bigger and hire more people to

prepare themselves for competitors and the hassles in handling people even if it is holiday, summer or the time where many people buy a ticket to travel.

The company has profit to fund all this changes that can also increase the profits gained in the company.
