JANUARY
We CELEBRATED over 50 entrepreneurs by host-ing our annual Port Ouverte. Which gave othersthe opportunity to see what our organization is
about first hand: creating sustainable jobs andpromoting local goods. Our members, partners,and friends had the chance to visit our entrepre-neurs and their employees at our offices whilehaving the chance to buy some of their homegrown goods!

FEBRUARY-MAYWe TRAINED over 2200people in business skillsand life skills. It was not an easy task, but weunderstood the VALUE in training these dis-placed individuals. So we partnered withWORLD VISION to equip a more informedcommunity of active citizens geared to cre-ate and promote sustainable jobs in HAITI.

We once again partnered with the UNITED NA-
TIONS , to place youth living in IMPOVER-ISHED AREAS of Port-au-Prince, whom somehave been involved in gang activity to takepart in a year long program which trains them
in technical trades like construction, plumbing,& electricity & place them in 6 month internshipin trade specific companies. Offering them a2nd CHANCE.

a wonderful addition to our teamthrough numerous initiatives.

As August rolled in ...we incubated 50 new microentrepreneurs into our Martissant and Cite Soleilincubators . Through out the next year HPCD &the UN will ensure that these women receive ad-
ditional training and be housed in our incubatorswhere they will have access to numerous re-sources which will help them grow their smallbusinesses.

As you can see, August was a
busy month for us at HPCD. Ourinterns conducted a wonderfullycrafted assessment & rehabilita-
tion workshop for the 200 youthwithin our placement initiative.This fostered understanding,growth and excitement amongstthe youth as they geared tobegin working in just a few
days.

2012PLACED OVER 150 YOUTH IN CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES
Just two and halfmonths after beginningour placement initiativeour tireless staff suc-
cessfully placed over 150youth in constructioncompanies in the Port-
au-Prince and sur-rounding areas. Over
190 youth are currentlyworking!
