הבוט הנשOne of the most important Jewishprinciples is “kol Yisrael areivim ze bazeh.” This phrase is most commonly translated as “all of Israel are responsiblefor one another,” but in truth there is no perfect English translation ofareivut. Areivut implies that all members of the Jewish community sharea fundamental connection that binds us to each other. As a result of thisextraordinary connection we also become responsible for one anotherand our individual identities become inseparable from the collective.
Ohev Sholom is blessed to have grown so much in the past 14 years. We have transformed from a small community in which everyoneknows each other to a large and dynamic community. In order to helpour shul maintain the friendliness and warmth that has sustained usfor the past years, this year we are focusing our programming aroundthe theme of areivut and reinforcing community and unity.
We look forward to a wonderful year in 5779. Please join us!
