REPORT
1. Industry : Kandhari Beverages Pvt. Ltd.(Coca Cola bottling plant)
Location: Baddi, Village Katha, Dist.- Solan (H.P.)
Franchise owner of: Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd.
The founder of the company: Jaspal Kandhari. They have 3 plants one at Punjab,
Haryana, and Baddi.
Products: They produce 6 brands of soft drinks namely Coca Cola, Sprite, Kinley (water
and soda), Soda, Fanta, Thumsup, Maaza of 200ml and 300ml and Kinley water bottles
of 1 litre. They have 2 separate lines. One line is for manufacturing soft drinks and
another line is Plastic water bottles .
Operations: Company has PET i.e. Poly-ethylene tetraphthalate plant. Plant runs on
total automated system. Every operation is carried out by machines. They have shipping
department, washing conveyers, bottle loading conveyer which loads 96 bottles at a
time. Bottle rinser cleans bottles and same conveyer belt carries those clean bottles
ahead where sensor prints names, labels and other details on cap of the bottle.
Company has raw syrup room. Here water and sugar gets mixed up under pumping
process. Before mixing, bags of sugar are unloaded and it goes through dust cleaning
process. Sugar mixing is done at the temperature 86-87oC. Under high flow machines
activated carbon get mixed with solution. Then syrup having the colour of water goes to
next plant which is water treatment plant. Bacteria’s killing is carried out under this
plant.
Then syrup goes to next plant of flavour mixing. For every different flavour, different
level of sugar is required. There are 4 tanks where flavour mixing takes place. For each
new order company designs process separately. Company also has Ammonia
refrigeration plant and Retainable glass bottle plant.

2. Industry: Hindustan closures Pvt. Ltd.
Location: Baddi, Village Katha, District. Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
Plant head: Mr. Charanjeet Singh introduced us to the company.
Products: Bottle preforms especially for Coca Cola Company, which are blown later to
form a bottle. This plant produces 26,000 bottles in an hour. Preforms for Bottles of 1
liter, 2 liter and 5 liters are produced in this plant.
Operations: Company uses a raw material known as ‘Filets- Granual’. This material
proceeds to tank and it melts under heat. Then melted material is molded to shape like
small test tubes. It is known as ‘Preform’. This Preform can be stretched to capacity as
per requirement and then it finally forms a shape of a bottle.
As per mould and pressure Preform changes and bottle of 1, 2 or 5 liter can be created.
To store bottles is much difficult, so storing them in the form of preform as like test
tubes is easier and convenient for any company.
This company is mainly supplying bottles to Coca Cola and is situated nearby Coca cola’s

3. Industry: Micro turners
Location: Village Jharmajri, Barotiwala District- Solan in Himachal Pradesh.
Products: Mechanical spare parts for automobile companies.
Operations: Company’s clients are Yamaha, Honda, TVS, Bajaj, Suzuki, Kawasaki and
CBZ. The spare parts are produced in different sizes according to their clients. They
have standard measurement for maintaining their quality. They have 20 machines to
make such spare parts and in a minute they produce 25 parts.
In 1st department it consists of 6 cells plus grinding cell, Cold forging, Ratchet cell,
Ratchet and bush cell etc. In 2nd department there is Bush cell and Driven cell. Other
important cells are Cyl- grinding cell, Shaft cell, sprocket pop and sleeve cell.
Working of departments is interdependent and every cell is connected to another so as
to ensure that work would be in flow and would be complete on time.

4. Industry: Life Style Industries ltd.
Location: Village- Bairsen Post- Manjholi, Nalagarh, District- Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
Products: Textile and apparels. The industry basically produces T-shirts for many
national and international brands .
Operations: It is a huge plant of investment around Rs. 300 crores. It consists of
spinning unit, embroidery section, cutting section, printing section and production
department. 30% of production operations are performed manually and remaining by
machines. Company has expensive and upgraded machinery with them and some of
them are software based.
Company has knitting section in which there are 2 different types: Flat knitting and
Circular knitting. Machines having CAD software are used for cutting. Use of machine
helps in cost- reduction and reduction of human resources as well.
At the end there is a person who performs the quality check after which the clothes are
sent to the pressing section. At pressing section they use steam iron to save electricity
and for fine pressing. In order to avoid duplication of their products they have a barcode
system. On each fabric, company uses barcode tag which will help to identify each and
every fabric.
