Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I just want to take this time to give everyone an update on my health. On January 12, 2018, I had total right hip replacement. This surgery was well over due.

Thankfully, everything went without any major setback. I am in the process of recovery. This means that I am doing physical therapy. It is amazing to me that they are actually having to

teach me to walk properly.

I am grateful to all of you for your prayers, get well cards and well wishes during this time. I am sure that it was partly due to your prayers that my surgery and recovery are such a

success.

As of this writing, I cannot say exactly when I will be able to return to the celebration of the Eucharist with all of you.

Continue to pray for me during this time.

ST VINCENT DE PAULFOOD OF THE MONTH CLUB

We just can’t seem to keep those cans of Tuna Fish on the shelves. As fast as you, our generous Parishioners donate them, that’s how fast our families in need take them home

to enjoy a tasty meal. Now that Lent is approaching, they’re probably going to be even more in demand. Consequently, once again, during the month of February, we are asking for

your help with donations of the following items.

CANS OF TUNA FISH

Your donations can be placed in the box located in the vestibule of the church when you come to Mass, or they can

be taken to the Rectory during normal business hours.

Please take this opportunity to help all the needy families in our parish. Thank you for your donations and

may God Bless You for your generosity.

Save the Date!

HAVE YOU REGISTERED TO BECOME A PARISHIONER OF ST. TURIBIUS PARISH?

We are all God’s Family!Somos todos los familiares de Dios!

Wszyscy jesteśmy rodzina Boga!

Our annual baseball outing will be on, Saturday, August 25, 2018. Come watch the Windy City Thunderbults and the Joliet Slammers play ball. More details coming!

Beginning the weekend of February 18th, our parish will be participating in The Baby Bottle Project benefiting The Women’s

Centers of Greater Chicagoland. This non-profit organization directly assists mothers and families experiencing crisis

pregnancies by offering emotional, financial, material, and spiritual support through counseling, clothing & monetary provisions,

prayer, and other aid. Each year the three locations together have over 5,000 appointments with expecting mothers. By God’s Grace, The Women’s Centers have saved over 40,000 babies—and their

mothers—from abortion since opening in 1984.

Please take a Baby Bottle home with you from the church on February 18th, fill it with your spare change, and return it by

the weekend of March 11, 2018.

This is a simple, but crucial fundraising effort for The Women’s Centers. Please note the Baby Bottles cost almost $1.00 per

bottle and are recycled afterwards so please return upon completion of the project. Thank you for helping defend life, and

remember to keep all pro-life undertakings in your prayers.

Also if you are making a donation by check, please make it payable to: The Women’s Center.

Thank you!

I turn to You, Lord, in time of trouble and You fill me with the joy of salvation.

St. Anne SocietyST. ANNE’S SOCIETY

ST. JOSEPH – ST. PATRICK DINNER

The St. Anne’s Society will once again be hosting our St. Joseph –St. Patrick dinner dance on

Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM.

This year, we will be celebrating and congratulating the Felician Sisters for their 90 years of service to St. Turibius Parish (1928 – 2018). We are

proud that we have had the same order of Sisters at our parish for these 90 years. Even though our school has been closed, the Sisters

have been actively involved in our various ministries and for this, we are forever grateful. If you are a parishioner or former parishioner or an

alumni of our school, then come out and thank the Felician Sisters. It will be a day of celebration and thanksgiving.

As always, we will be serving corned beef and cabbage, polish sausage, chicken and more. There will also be the traditional “St. Joseph’s Sweet

Table”. Our entertainment will be provided by Eddie Korosa, Jr. If you enjoy some of the old time music, dancing polkas and a sing-a-long, then this is the place to be on March 3rd. The price for the dinner is $25.00 if purchased on or before February 25th. If purchased on or after February 26th or at the door, the price is $30.00. Tickets for this

event can be purchased in the vestibule of the Church at all of the weekend Masses. You can also call Geri Biel at 773-520-6733 to

reserve your ticket.

We also have a money raffle with a total payout of $1,000.00. The raffle tickets are $1.00 each, 6 for $5.00 or 12 for $10.00. The winning tickets

will be drawn at the St. Joseph-St. Patrick Dinner Dance. The winner need not be present. We will be selling the raffle tickets and dinner tickets in

the vestibule of the Church starting on Saturday, January 27th before the 4:00 PM Mass. Come out and have a good time and enjoy the delicious food,

the great music by Eddie Korosa and the traditional “Sweet Table.” Bring a friend and buy your tickets early.

“ALL ARE WELCOME”.

Parish Mission Statement

We Believe that God is Love, and when we live in love we live in God and God lives in

us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out

Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and we will show our love for God

by the way we love and care for one another. To this end, we will respond to our baptismal

call, strengthened by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by

the Holy Spirit. As a Family of Faith that has an Attitude of Gratitude for the gifts God has given to us, we will share our time, our talent

and our treasure with each other. We welcome into our parish family all people, because we

believe that together we are the Body of Christ and together we can bring the love, peace,
