JMJ 8 January, 2017 My Dearest Parish Family,

God be with us always.

As I was going to begin writing this letter I inadvertedly turned over a bowl of chips that fell onto the carpet. I looked at it and I thought – well this is just like life where sometimes things just come tumbling down. We have to accept it, take a look at it and ask how can we make it better. What I did was to start picking it up from the smaller pieces to the whole ones (this is how I eat them anyways, TMI). I thought about the eight days that has gone by since 2017 started. It has not been all rosy and bright, but it is all a matter of how open we are to make things right. The greatest strength we have is that we do not go through it alone – God is with us. He is Our Father, Abba – whose countenance, grace and blessing is generously given to us, and I mean everyday. This week we are demolishing the remaining columns of the Patio to make way for an improved, fully covered Patio that will be more beneficial for our Parish Family. Things change and often it is for the better.

We all have plans for the year coming, but sometimes God’s plans are better and more meaningful. The three wise men, three kings as depicted traditionally, have their own plans I would think, but they listened to the inspiration to follow the star and their lives

were changed forever. In their openness to the Spirit, they were even led to a different route after.

We all have plans for 2017 but I think what would serve us well is that if we pause for a while to ponder and pray – listen to the soft prompting of the Holy Spirit, then bravely go on our journey. Thank you for this New Year, our loving Abba – Father and we rest securely in your hands. God bless and take care. God bless and take care. Love and prayers,

Fr. Thomas Paul K. Naval

Amor y oraciones,

Padre Thomas Paul K. Naval
