ประเทศไทยใหความรวมมอและด าเนนงานเพอกวาดลางโปลโออยางเขมแขงมาโดยตลอดกวา 3 ทศวรรษ

จนประสบความส าเรจเปนประเทศปลอดโปลโอมากวา 19 ปแลว โดยพบผปวยรายสดทาย เมษายน พ.ศ. 2540 (ทยป 1)

สมชชาอนามยโลกครงท 65 เมอวนท 20-26 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ.2555 และรวมกนจดท าแผนยทธศาสตรการกวาดลางโรคโปลโอในฉากสดทาย พ.ศ.2556 – 2561 (Polio Eradication and Endgame Strategic Plan 2013-2018)

สรปประเดน มงกวาดลางไวรสทกชนดทง wild virus และ เชอไวรสสายพนธวคซน

ในปพ.ศ. 2558 ถง 2559 จะมงเนนการกวาดลางไวรสสายพนธวคซนชนดท 2 กอน เนองจาก ไวรสสายพนธวคซนชนดท 2 มการกลายพนธเปนสาเหตกอโรคและท าใหเกดการระบาดในหลายประเทศ ( >90% ของ cVDPV)
