Do not stack the blocks in haphazard manner or leave them exposed to rain or moisture

Stack the blocks on dry and even surface to avoid contact with moisture.

It is recommended that the blocks be placed on planks or other supports.

1) STORING THE BLOCKS

Do not use tools like hammer, chisel etc. to cut the blocks

Use a carbide tipped saw to cut the AAC blocks

If using thin bed mortar, do not use a thapi for spreading he mortar.

If using thin bed mortar, the thickness of the joint should not be more than 3 mm.

Only recommended tools should be used. For laying the mortar, use a notched trowel

3) USING THIN BED MORTAR

Do not use a rich mortar mix as it tends to shrink and might cause cracks

If using sand-cement mortar, the thickness should be 10-12 mm.

Use 1:6 cement-sand mortar.

Do not flood the wall with water

Moisten the blocks slightly using a brush before applying mortar

5) WETTING THE BLOCKS

Do not lay more than six layers of blocks in a day

Lay only up to six layers of blocks everyday.

The thickness of the external plaster should not be more than 15 mm and thickness of internal plaster should not be more than 10 mm

The thickness of the external plaster should be 15 mm and internal plaster should be 10 mm

7) PLASTER THICKNESS

The lintel should not be placed on half blocks as this causes stress concentration resulting in cracks

The lintel should be placed on a complete block

8) PLACING THE LINTEL

Do not construct a wall without a coping beam

Coping beam must be 2 nos, 8 mm reinforcement after every 1.4 mts.

9) COPING BEAM

Do not slide the blocks horizontally into position after applying mortar on the surface. This causes the mortar to get displaced and accumulate at the corners

While placing the blocks, care must be taken to slide the blocks vertically into position as this prevents the mortar from being displaced

10) LAYING THE BRICKS

Do not apply plaster on chase area without wire mesh.

Fill the chase area with compact mortar and apply wire mesh on it.

11) CHASE AREA

Do not install electrical and sanitary chases after plastering.

Install the electrical and sanitary chases before plastering the wall.

12) ELECTRICAL AND SANITARY CHASES

Do not immerse the block completely in water

Dip only the surface of the blocks in water.
