This is an investigation of Corbett Auditorium, illustrating paths of travel and light.

Stepped blocks with ergonomic subtractions; each cut is for a specific position based on my own measurements.

The images above are basswood cubes.

The image to the right is a balance block. It is a free standing model, angled to let the weight of one side balence the other. It creates an implied cube.

The curves hidden within this plaster mold mimic the winding amature which holds it. The gouache illustration cuts the mold into fourths, reveiling the curves within.The pencil drawing on the right portrays how the paster mold is held by the armature.

Armature

The plaster mold is held by this armature. This hollow stand was created by soaking the 1/32” basswood strips in water, bending the wood while wet and weav-ing the wood strips.

The body mantel is made up of O-rings and key chain rings.

Spring Grove Cemetery To the right is a section drawing of a mausoleum in Spring Grove that makes inferences of the interior.
