The university’s unique business-oriented profile helps to ensure its academic high quality for the growing needs of the region and beyond. Management of Creative Industries full-time study Overview The Culture and Creative Industries (CCI) have helped turn Berlin into one of Europe‘s most attractive metropoles for creative pro- fessionals and young talent. The lively and dynamic artistic and cultural scene has led Berlin to become a Creative City, with new spaces regularly opening up and increasing revenues being ge- nerated as a result. Start-ups from the worlds of fashion, design, architecture and marketing as well as larger and more establish- ed companies operating in the realms of music, IT, gaming and media all use Berlin as the hub to reach new customers in their respective markets. Adding to Berlin‘s appeal is its affordable locational factors, its low cost of living, and of course the allure of being a hip, international and tolerant city. The city‘s growth is set to continue, and the key driver will be the Digital Shift-a trend that will also bring about some major up- heavals in certain areas like the print media. Only highly trained professionals can provide the innovation required to positively shape that development. Such individuals need to be able to understand and manage complex processes that span several industries. bbw University of Applied Sciences, the business school for business, decided to respond to this trend by training industry experts just for the creative economy. It has initiated a master‘s programme that specifically focuses on developing in- dustry-spanning management skills. Starting in the fall semester of 2015/ 16, and for the first time in Germany, students may enroll in the “Management of Creative Industries“ master‘s programme, which has been specifically designed to span several sectors of the creative industry. It‘s the first study programme to employ a holistic approach to proactively address the dramatic changes soon to affect the industry. For this reason the curriculum includes overarching management concepts associated with the planning, management and financial controlling of creative teams, while simultaneously developing an understanding of the challenges those teams face. Specific themes examined include the cross-functional analysis of companies in the CCI. This may involve Innovation Development, which focuses on Design Thinking, Idea Development, Intellectual Property Management, Branding, Advanced Information and Communication Tech- nologies (ICT). Also examined are issues such as “The Power of Sharing”, which investigates Community Driven Marketing, Methods and Strategies of CCI Management, Strategic Financial Planning and Control, as well as the business models associated with Digital Entrepreneurship. The course structure is accommodating for those already working in the industry, in that both extra-occupational and full-time enroll- ment is possible. Seminars and lectures are held in English – the working language of most companies active in the CCI. Master´s Programme (Master of Arts, M. Management of Creative Industriesfull-time study

Overview

The Culture and Creative Industries (CCI) have helped turn Berlin into one of Europe‘s most attractive metropoles for creative pro-fessionals and young talent. The lively and dynamic artistic and cultural scene has led Berlin to become a Creative City, with new spaces regularly opening up and increasing revenues being ge-nerated as a result. Start-ups from the worlds of fashion, design, architecture and marketing as well as larger and more establish-ed companies operating in the realms of music, IT, gaming and media all use Berlin as the hub to reach new customers in their respective markets. Adding to Berlin‘s appeal is its affordable locational factors, its low cost of living, and of course the allure of being a hip, international and tolerant city.

The city‘s growth is set to continue, and the key driver will be the Digital Shift-a trend that will also bring about some major up-heavals in certain areas like the print media. Only highly trained professionals can provide the innovation required to positively shape that development. Such individuals need to be able to understand and manage complex processes that span several industries. bbw University of Applied Sciences, the business school for business, decided to respond to this trend by training industry experts just for the creative economy. It has initiated a master‘s programme that specifically focuses on developing in-dustry-spanning management skills. Starting in the fall semester

of 2015/ 16, and for the first time in Germany, students may enroll in the “Management of Creative Industries“ master‘s programme, which has been specifically designed to span several sectors of the creative industry. This may involve Innovation Development, which focuses on Design Thinking, Idea Development, Intellectual Property Management, Branding, Advanced Information and Communication Tech-nologies (ICT). Also examined are issues such as “The Power of Sharing”, which investigates Community Driven Marketing, Methods and Strategies of CCI Management, Strategic Financial Planning and Control, as well as the business models associated with Digital Entrepreneurship.

The course structure is accommodating for those already working in the industry, in that both extra-occupational and full-time enroll-ment is possible. Seminars and lectures are held in English – the working language of most companies active in the CCI.

The Management of Creative Industries master‘s programme offers graduates the opportunity to commence their career with sound business expertise. (Foreign students see point 2).If the student chooses to pay the tuition in the form of instalments, each individual instalment is due on the 5th of each month. If the student falls behind with an instalment and does not make up for the instalment the next month by the due date, the full tuition fee will be due immediately without the need of a reminder. If the student does not pay an instalment on due date, the bbw University of Applied Sciences is entitled to charge a reminder fee of 10.00 EUR for each reminder. The pro-cessing of the documents begins after receipt of payment on the account of the bbw University of Applied Sciences. The date on which the payment is received by the bbw University of Applied Sciences is decisive.

3. Communication in Text FormRegistrations, cancellations, terminations as well as additional agreements regarding changes to the study contract must be made in written form (e. g. letter, fax or e-mail). Verbal agree-ments have no legal effect. Deadlines, such as a notice of termi-nation, are considered as the date of receipt at the bbw University of Applied Sciences.

4. Deregistration for Applicantsa) The study contract can be revoked within 14 days after the signing of the contract via e-mail without fee. Here the date of e-mail dispatch shall be decisive.b) If the study contract is terminated after the revocation period

Termination, Leave Semester, Extension Semestera) The application for a semester’s leave of absence must be sub-mitted to the bbw University of Applied Science in written form at least six weeks prior to the start of the respective semester that the student wishes to take leave.b) The tuition fees are to be paid until the end of the terminated study semester.c) A free leave semester can be granted to students upon appli-cation, as long as this does not contradict an orderly course of studies. The application must be sent to the bbw University of Applied Sciences in text form at the end of each semester with a notice period of six weeks. The leave semester is granted in such a way that with this application, the originally agreed study programme is automatically continued in the subsequent study course, taking into account the number of semesters already completed.d) A study programme may not be cancelled once a semester‘s leave of absence has been granted by the university.e) The study contract ends at the end of the agreed standard period of study. The duration of the study or the study contract is not automatically extended, even if the studies are not com-pleted within the standard period of study. For an extension of the study course, an application for an extension semester must be submitted in text form with a notice period of four weeks prior to the end of the semester. An extension semester is chargeab-le. The amount of the fees is determined by the bbw University of Applied Sciences. If no application for renewal is made, the de-registration takes place at the end of the contract without any further request.

7. Premature Termination of StudiesA premature completion of studies using all study credits does not absolve the student from the payment of the agreed total tuition fees.
