ABSTRACT | A fundamental unsolved mystery is how I, the species that calls itself Homo sapiens, came to be in the Universe and came to want to understand my existence, my nature, and my origin. Despite significant progress, the historical sciences—anthropology, archaeology, cosmology, geology, paleontology, and evolutionary biology to name a few—have been unable to synthesize a coherent picture of Homo evolution, implying that a fresh approach may be in order. In this respect, I recently showed that the gyromodel is a reified and heuristic framework that explains the origin, evolution, and nature of cellular life. Here, I fit the gyromodel to the evidence regarding Homo ontogenesis and phylogenesis and, in so doing, provide innovative and empirically consistent solutions to bodily circulation, birth, extinction, predator-prey dynamics, the five major senses, the origin of language, symbol, and number systems, the nature of value, ethics, and law, and the basis of knowledge. I also apply the gyromodel to explain the Origin of the Universe, dark energy, dark matter, mind, and consciousness. This complete and consistent theoretical framework yields an unprecedented perspective on both my physical and personal development from inception to theoretician and on the evolution of the Homo genus from its inchoate past to modern civilization.
