South Florida Business Journal’s ‘40 Under 40’
V anessa Grout, holds a resume many would more likely find at the end of a successful career: President & CEO of Douglas Elliman Florida and Vice
President at Douglas Elliman’s parent company, Vector Group, Ltd.; a Pillar Member of the Chamber of Commerce of Miami Beach; Member of the Wolfsonian Mu-seum’s Real Estate Committee; and a Member of the Executive Host Com-mittee for the An-nual Gala of the Consequences
Foundation founded by Roy & Lea Black.
Raised in Palm Beach, Grout continued her higher edu-
cation in South Florida where she earned her Bachelor of
Arts at the University of Miami, continuing on to New
York University’s Stern School of Business to obtain a
MBA in Finance and a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas
University’s School of Law. She is admitted to practice
law in the State of Florida and is a member of the Dade
County Bar Association. In 2012, Ms. Grout was named
as one of South Florida Business Journal’s 40 Under .

O ver 300 power brokers and bold-
facers from Palm Beach, Boca,
Miami, and New York attended
the Summer Opening of New
York-based real estate firm Douglas Elliman, Florida Brokerage
office and Capponi Construction Group, LLC. The two power
houses share space at 444 E. Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton,
Florida and were warmly welcomed to the neighborhood.
The event honored Rita Johnson, founder of the non-profit Shuzz Fund, a Boca Raton-based charity that
provides footwear for poverty-stricken children.
The exquisite catering was provided by RACKS Down-town Eatery + Tavern. The event was sponsored by
Moet Hennessy and Belvedere Vodka.

E mmy nominated journalist, Ana B. Remos, was born in Havana, Cuba. Her
father was a member of the Foreign Service in Madrid, where the family
established permanent residence. In the Spanish capital the young Ana
graduated with multiple degrees in journalism and a PHD in Philosophy
from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and
went on to land the coveted position of television producer,
presenter and host for Spain’s state television Televisión Espa-
ñola (TVE).
Remos further honed her journalistic skills, continuing to add
more titles and achievements to her impressive career including
Social Editor of El Nuevo Herald; producer and screenwriter for
Telemundo, Univision and TV Mujer; Miami correspondent for
magazines such as Hola, Spanish Vogue, Ocean Drive en Espa-
ñol, Selecta and Exito; and producer and host of El Circulo, a
weekly TV magazine. Presidents, governors, politicians, writers,
artists, pop stars, fashion designers, philanthropists, socialites, first ladies, cultural
icons and members of the European nobility have been interviewed by this dynamic

We are all Friends of the Fisher House Over 400 supporters attended a fundraiser for The Friends of Fisher House at Taboo Restau-
rant in Palm Beach where American veterans from World War II to the present were honored July 11th, 2012. Over $10,000.00 were raised at the surprisingly successful off-season event for the West Palm Beach Fisher House. Tito Vodka and Black River Caviar were among the gen-erous sponsors.
