RSIP Update
22
▪ RSIP has approved 296.4 MW of residential PV of our total goal of 350 MW.
▪ Volume has picked up quite a bit since Q2 2019 – nearly double from Q1 2018 through Q1 2019. We’ve gone from about 4 MW of new project submissions per month to 7 MW. In October, we saw 10 MW of new project submissions.
▪ At this pace, we may reach RSIP’s capacity this Spring. We will continue to monitor trends and keep contractors updated via email and our PowerClerkhomepage.
▪ Our last incentive Step, Step 15 will go into effect on January 15, 2020. We will communicate info about Step 15 as well as some other program updates in the coming weeks.

Opportunity Statement
– The unique characteristic of electric storage technologies and applications is that each can provide multiple value streams, including:
• Peak shaving;• Firming intermittent renewable energy;• Supporting the deployment of renewable energy;• Customer, local, and community resilience; • Ancillary services; and,• Avoiding or deferring distribution system upgrades.

Solutions Days– November 14th and 15th (link)– The purpose of the Solutions Days is to: (1) learn from electric
storage program or rate designs currently in place in other jurisdictions; (2) understand any current plans for electric storage programs in the state; and (3) solicit innovative ideas on, and best practices of, electric storage programs or rate designs that Connecticut should implement
– Information on these topics can also be submitted to PURA

2019 Green Energy Contractor ConferenceBTM Storage Updates & Overview
BTM Storage Technology where are we & what to watch
• Analysts are always ahead of us, but costs are falling
• Inverter/battery management has been ready for deployment• Technology can meet almost any grid requirement for interconnection
• Downstream integration of load management• Smart load centers ex. SPAN.IO
• Battery innovation & supply chain driven by automotive sector• VW & Volvo, Tesla, Mercedes & Porsche
BTM Storage Marketswhat’s working & where
• VT Green Mountain Power BYOD
• Mass SMART & Connected Solutions
• NYSERDA Long Island Capacity Rebate
• California TOU Rates & SGIP
• AZ Resi demand charges
• Hawaii Grid Restrictions
Equitable Modern Gridpolicy guidance & recommendations
• How do we want to use Storage?• Strong leadership from Gov & Legislators
• Simple block capacity-based incentives without caps• Short runway to launch and scalable
• TOU rate structure reform across all meter classes• Is a natural incentive
• Fair assessment through VDER docket process• Full accounting of ALL benefits and externalities to rate payers
