INTRODUCTION
Who are we?
Adamson Systems Engineering is a Canadian
manufacturing firm based 80 km outside of Toronto,
Ontario. We develop and manufacture a complete line
of innovative loudspeaker products for the professional
touring and installation markets. Designed and constructed
to exacting specifications, every stage of an Adamson
loudspeaker system is produced entirely in-house.
This meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail
shows how seriously we believe in our ideas. Adamson’s
continued pursuit for sonic excellence has led to a
number of important patents published in key loudspeaker
technologies. From those patented principles emerged
complex sound chambers, highly engineered drivers,
and innovative rigging and cabinet designs, setting new
standards throughout the world. Our continued success
in bringing significant, leading edge technology to the
end-user, has associated the Adamson brand name with
excellence and distinction.
President & CEO Brock AdamsonIn 1983, Brock Adamson began creating sound
reinforcement systems that would open the ears and
eyes of audio engineers and designers around the world.
He envisioned a method of reproducing sound which,
even at extremely high levels, would retain the integrity
of the original waveform and preserve the subtleties of
symmetry, coherency and intelligibility – nuances most
often lost in translation.
Brock Adamson‘s passion for sound has driven the
evolution of Adamson Systems Engineering from a small
speaker shop to a company invested in its own factory,
with a broad engineering base and a wide range of
computer controlled manufacturing technology. Today
Adamson is recognized as one of the most progressive
manufacturers of loudspeaker systems in the industry.
Brock Adamson currently continues to spearhead the
design team at Adamson’s Research Laboratories,
while simultaneously planning the expansion of our
manufacturing facilities and implementation of PLC
controlled robotic automation and high-tech CNC
machinery.
MANUFACTURING
Complete in-house manufacturing
FactoryFrom raw material fabrication to the finished product,
Adamson is one of the industries only manufacturing
firms to take true advantage of industrial materials and
the industrial machinery to process them. We do not
rely on the same components that most manufacturers
are limited to. We rapid prototype, and advance our
technology, without the stress or limitations of outsourcing.
It ’s all built at home in Canada. When others are moving
to produce cabinets or entire systems off shore, we strive
to move technology forward, with the quality and integrity
that is expected in the professional audio industry.
The Machine ShopBy utilizing the latest in industrial CNC (Computer
Numerical Control) technology, Adamson produces
precision machined parts, motor assemblies, rigging
systems, punched steel and custom tooling, all with the
industry ’s most stringent tolerances. The result…
Control and consistency, that is second to none.
The Transducer ShopAdamson offers a complete range of the industry ’s most
efficient and durable, mid range compression and low
frequency transducers. As the pioneers of Kevlar cone
technology, we produce a lighter stiffer diaphragm, with
superior transient response and no fatigue over time.
Unlike other composite materials, Kevlar boasts a beautiful
balance of internal loss and mid range efficiency. Other
materials do not share this balance and either over damp
and reduce the efficiency (ie: paper), or under damp
and ring (ie: Carbon Fiber). Our unique Cones eliminate
the resonance and ringing in the passband, while
delivering smooth controlled midrange, with unrivaled
output. Recently our Research Laboratories have made
significant advancements in specialized Kevlar cone
geometries and introduced Adamson’s Advanced Cone
Architecture. Our breakthrough geometries have proven
to raise the frequency of radial cone modes and increase
the linearized passpand in our LF components, a huge
benefit in two way cabinet design. From the world’s
most powerful subwoofer, to the most efficient mid range
systems, Adamson’s Transducer Technology is a cut
above.
The Cabinet ShopAll of our rugged 11ply, 5/8” Baltic Birch cabinets are
CNC cut precisely to spec. A team of highly skilled
cabinet makers hand-finish every enclosure, before an
immaculate roadworthy coating is applied.
ENGINEERING
Progressive research
Our team of engineers utilize the most sophisticated
2D and 3D drafting tools, as well as FEA (Finite Element
Analysis) and BEA (Boundary Element Analysis) technology,
to fully envision our concepts.
Stress analysis on rigging systems, simulation of modal
behavior on Kevlar diaphragms and the study of acoustic
particle motion in waveguides and wave shaping sound
chambers, are all analyzed in our laboratories, so our R&D
department can execute and deliver the most progressive
loudspeaker systems available.
DESIGN
Acoustic measurementWe conduct extensive measurements throughout
our prototype and design processes. KLIPPEL, MLSSA,
Clio, WinMLS, PACsys and Vacs, are just a few of the
measurement tools used to gather and analyze data on
transducers, as well as finished systems.
All of our published power ratings follow the AES (Audio
Engineering Society) standard. Sensitivity is measured
with 2.83V and taken at 1m, providing consistent and
accurate data that is simple to understand and evaluate.
(some measurements are taken at 3 meters and scaled
accordingly)
AES power ratings are measured with a Pink Noise signal
extending one decade above the driver ’s lowest operating
frequency. This rating is the average RMS power, long
term, with a 6dB crest factor. (Peaks are 6dB higher than
the AES rating) Our Program Power rating is the suggested
continuous power of each amplifier channel. The driver
can be continuously driven to the amplifiers maximum
output using music as program, without failure.

Shooter® Adamson Shooter® Software is one of the most advanced
and robust array modeling and configuration software
packages available. This complete simulation package
takes full advantage of our sophisticated measurement
processes, providing real acoustic plots, taken from valid
acoustic measurements - not just theoretical numbers.
Unlike other “line array calculators”, the Shooter®
package offers 2D Vertical and Horizontal views, with
complete 3D SPL calculation. This makes it easy to edit
venue geometries, add multiple levels to a design and
evaluate accurate SPL coverage/distribution data, while
a Mechanical View and a Rigging Plot window display
precise rigging points and load information. Even when
you’re tight for time, Shooter® will deliver, period.
So we ask the question… Do you want the precision and
control of real acoustic measurement at your fingertips,
or just a basic calculator that simply cannot address the
complexities raised by modern array design?

AIR™ SystemThe AIR™ (Adamson Integrated Rigging) system introduces a
captive rigging concept that requires no extra hardware and
is so simple to use that a single person can set up an entire
array. Both the revolving disk (US Patent # 7,328,274) and spring
loaded rigging elements of the AIR™ system retract completely
into the cabinet when not in use and saves valuable time and
money in labour and set-up. When arrayed AIR™ hardware is
completely discreet giving a clean and unobtrusive look. The
AIR™ system allows 6 various rigging angles between each
enclosure, measured in the logarithmic scale and comes
standard with the SpekTrix Series, T-21 Sub, and the Metrix-t
Series. (Note: The AIR™ system in the Metrix Sub-t is not spring
loaded.)
PRODUCTS
Slide-Hinge RiggingAdamson’s Slide-Hinge Rigging System gets the Y-Axis Line out
of the truck and into the air quickly and easily. The Y10 system
features six one-degree increments, while the Y18 offers 11
half-degree increments, allowing precise angular positioning
by adjusting the extension of the sliding hinge. It connects at
the rear of each cabinet to the next rigging point using ball
lock pins, for safe and efficient assembly. Adamson’s Slide-
Hinge rigging system provides solid suspension for larger
scale Y-Axis arrays, and transition kits are available to allow for
combining cabinets from both the Y-Axis and SpekTrix series,
extending system flexibility and offering completely scalable
line array solutions.
Rigging hardware
EIR™ SystemMetrix-i introduces the EIR™ ‘Enclosed Installation Rigging’
system, which is a lightweight solution, designed to save
money on permanent installations. The Metrix Install Adapter
Plate is available when flying the Metrix Sub-t in the same
array with the Metrix-i or Metrix Wave -i enclosures. The EIR™
plates function in a similar manner as the AIR™ rigging
wheel. Each of the 6 positions are on a logarhitmic scale
(settings 0 to 5). Four screws fasten an EIR™ plate between
2 enclosures on each side. Adamson has also adapted the
EIR™ system as an option for the SpekTrix system.
MASS™ SystemMASS™ (Multi Angle Suspension
System) features several
different methods of flying M15
cabinets. MASS™ is designed
for a single or a pair of M15’s.
The M15 is designed to accept
a ‘multipurpose rigging plate’,
which is the base for the
following rigging methods: Pole
mount, Fly track, C-clamp, and
Single Axis & Dual Axis for a
single or a pair of M15’s. MASS™
is perfect for installations or
touring applications and is
available by special request.
Adamson Line Arrays offer the best possible solutions to
the complex questions of line array geometry. Sound
chambers, waveguides, driver size and box angle are
all critically optimized in the integration process of array
design. Each of these components plays a significant
role in the outcome.
Today Adamson offers various sizes of line arrays:
Large and Medium sized Y-Axis Series with the flyable
subwoofer extension T-21 Sub to the compact sized
SpekTrix Series – and the Ultra Compact Metrix Series.
LINE ARRAYS
Line Source technology
Co-Linear Drive Module Brock Adamson’s patented Co-Linear Drive Module,
is a Co-entrant Mid/High device, comprised of a high
frequency sound chamber, inside a mid frequency
sound chamber. The 9” Adamson midrange
compression driver fires into a concentric slotted phase
plug. The conversion of the concentric rings to vertical
slots in the midrange results in a flat wavefront.
The 4” high frequency compression driver mounts co-
axially to the back plate of the mid and fires energy
through the pole piece of the mid and into a separate
high frequency chamber. The high chamber offers
a series of cells that adjust both the path length and
the vector of the energy within the wavefront at the
exit. This reduces the curvature of the wavefront and
ensures that all acoustic particle movement within
the wavefront, is normal to the wavefront. This means
that in the resulting hyper-directional horn loaded mid/
high system, the wavefront structure of the individual
elements conforms closely to the shape of the overall
array wavefront. There is very little of the scattered
energy that causes vertical interference in other designs.
US Patent #6,343,133 and US Patent #6,581,719
The drive module has three slots at the exit. The centre
slot is energized with high frequency pressure and is
then flanked by two slots energized with mid frequency
pressure. With such close spacing and patented
processing techniques, the chamber virtually eliminates
time smear and mid lobing. US Patent #6,628,796.

Y10The Y10 line source system is the compact, mid-sized,
member of the Y-Axis family. But don’t be fooled by its
discreet size. The Y10 packs a serious punch, as the heart
of the system is the Adamson mid/high Co-Linear Drive
Module, loaded with a single YX9 midrange compression
driver and a 4” diaphragm high frequency compression
driver. The mid/high section of the Y10 is flanked by
two Adamson low mass ND10-L, 10” Kevlar, Neodymium
drivers.
This versatile workhorse can be deployed as a powerful
main system, or a complement to the Y18, in down fill
applications. To ensure complete compatibility, the Y10
and Y18 use a universal rigging design. When the Y10
is flown as a down fill to the Y18, the combination is the
industry ’s only seamless mid/high transition. Both Y10 and
Y18 cabinets utilize Adamson’s Co-Linear sound chamber
and are identical from 250 Hz, to their highest operating
frequency.
Therefore the wavefront of an array combining both Y18
and Y10, is uninterrupted by gaps or awkward and bulky
rigging systems. They produce an astonishing, seamless
blanket of smooth mid/high frequency energy throughout
the defined coverage area.
Y18The first and most powerful line source system in the
Adamson family was introduced as an answer to the
growing demand for higher SPL over greater distances.
The system caters primarily to touring and festival work,
but can be found on installations that require extremely
high SPL.
This 3-way cabinet employs two Adamson mid/high Co-
Linear Drive Modules and like the Y10, the drive module
and trapezoidal cabinet design create a uniform, slightly
curved seamless wavefront of mid/high energy, while the
lows are enforced with two Adamson AW18, 18” Kevlar
drivers.
This LF design provides rock solid performance that no
other system can duplicate. And with the most efficient
midrange system in the industry, the Y-Axis offers headroom
that is unfathomable. When other arrays have reached
their limit and begin to break up, the Y18 is a brick wall
that just won’t shudder.
And then you turn on the T21…

“Adamson Y10’s and Y18’s, in addition to the T21 Sub, create a
complete package. I feel like I’m a salesman for this PA, but I’m
really excited about it because of how good it is. The efficiency of
the T21 sub is unlike any other sub.”
Kenneth “Pooch” Van Druten, FOH Engineer: Linkin Park, KISS, Kid Rock
“When you get in path of the T-21 Subs, the difference is incredible.
I love them.”
Harley Zinker, FOH Engineer: Interpol, The Strokes
“I read the specs, then I used the box. The T21 sounds even better
than it looks on paper. This box is a must have for any rock show!”
James McCullagh, FOH Engineer: INXS, The Libertines
“The Y10 with T-21 is the best active four-way I have ever used.”
Scott Willsallen, Sound Designer and Consultant - Eurovision 2006, Asian Games 2006,
National Day Parade Singapore 2007, World Youth Day Sydney 2008.
T21 SubAdamson has re-set the bar with a new generation of low frequency
technology. The T21’s performance is almost impossible to believe
when you read the specifications, but when you turn it on you can
feel that there is something special happening. And it is unlike
anything that you have experienced in the past.
But there is no magic involved, just the advanced cabinet design
coupled with a pair of the most sophisticated low frequency
transducers available; Brock Adamson’s own, SD-21 (Symmetrical
Drive™), 6” dual coil, 3000 watt, Kevlar woofers. Unlike other dual
coil drives, the SD-21 has a balanced spider suspension, with
spiders at both ends of the coil assembly, resulting in extreme
stability under high excursions. The air movement generated by
the spiders helps to cool the coil while “fins” draw the heat away
from the coil, lowering operating temperature and improving power
compression.
With 15mm of linear xmax, 6000 watts of power and a cabinet
designed to manage extreme air movement, the T21 is a true
powerhouse. Engineers and designers around the world are raving about it.
SpekTrix Series
SpekTrix & SpekTrix WSpekTrix offers all the benefits of a true line source via
patented wave shaping sound chamber technology (US
Patent #6,581,719). Both the 5 degree SpekTrix and the
15 degree SpekTrix W (Wide Angle Vertical Enclosure) are
three-way enclosures exhibiting extremely high output for
their compact size.
The sound chamber in the heart of the SpekTrix is similar to
the inner (high frequency) body of the Y-Axis drive module.
It produces a slightly curved wave front in the HF that is
comparable to the wavefront found in the Y-Axis.
The 15 degree SpekTrix W allows for extreme downward
angles at the bottom of the array – ensuring optimal
coverage in the front rows – and is perfect for use in wide
vertical coverage array designs (for instance, in theatres
with multiple balconies). Both enclosures feature unique
8.5” Adamson Kevlar, neodymium drivers – one ND8-L
LF and one ND8-M MF - and one 3” diaphragm high
frequency compression driver.
The SpekTrix and SpekTrix W feature the patented AIR™
revolving disk flying hardware, while the SpekTrix rigging
frame is equipped with a
single threaded
moving pick point,
so the centre of
balance and tilt
angle can be precisely
adjusted with little effort.

Metrix Series
Metrix & Metrix W
Our Multi-Purpose,
Ultra Compact Line
Source Series was
designed for small to
medium permanent
installations, or for
use as a main system in corporate and smaller touring
applications. The rugged but discreet cabinet is also a
handy solution for large format touring as a front fill, lip fill or
out fill system.
The 2-way design shares the same patented sound chamber
technology found in the SpekTrix series.
Unlike other ultra compact systems, the Metrix does not run
out of steam when you put it to the test. The sound chamber
is loaded with a 3” diaphragm HF compression driver giving
it the raw horsepower that is simply unavailable in other
cabinets of its class. Metrix ‘Symmetrical Adapter Plates’
are used to fly L and R arrays with mirrored waveguides for
perfect symmetry. The HF sound chamber is paired with a
high powered single Neodymium, Kevlar 8.5” low/mid driver.
The Metrix toolbox also includes ‘Pole
Mount Plates’, designed to handle
a pair of Metrix W (Wide Angle
Vertical Enclosure) mounted on
the built-in pole mount socket
in the Metrix Sub. The unique
accessories make the Metrix
series a scalable solution, even
for smaller events where a full array
is not needed.

3 Phases
The project was conceived after years of analyzing
the inefficiencies found in Sound Re-enforcement and
Performance Venue Optimization.
In any given concert environment, you don’t have to look
far before you find multiple software programs, running
on a slew of laptops, awkward packaging, slow rigging
systems, excessive truck space consumed by bulky amp
racks and oversized loudspeaker systems.
This is how we came to a very simple conclusion...
integrate & consolidate.
The key components of Energia, include a series of new
loudspeaker systems, with networkable Class D amplifier
modules, DSP, cable and power distribution, AVB
network hardware with software integration of control, 3
dimensional simulation and diagnostics. To ensure the
reliability and a smooth integration of the technology,
there are 3 phases involved in the release of the first
loudspeaker system in Project Energia.
Project Energia
MORE THAN A SIMPLE 3dB
Phase 1 - Mechanical Field Testing
Blueprint® Software: Design Tools
Phase 2 - Class D Amplifier, Power Distribution and
Ground Control Field Testing
Phase 3 - Network and Network Hardware Field Testing
Built-in controller & analyser with AVB Interactivity (Energia
Genus) Blueprint® Suite: Control & Design Software
The Final Product
The elegant build of each Adamson E15 cabinet begins
with the provocative e-Capsule, precisely engineered
and constructed, in lightweight Aluminum and Aircraft
Steel.
The patent pending e-Capsule is the heart of the E15
system, housing mid/high components, waveguides,
amplification, network electronics and the Autolock™
rigging system which allows for 8 incremental positions
and can handle 32 cabinets deep with an 8:1 safety
factor. A single cable energizes the E15 with analog and
digital signals, network control and 3-phase AC power.
The E15 requires one cable for four enclosures.
The E15’s waveguide pattern provides 90 degrees of
horizontal coverage (+/- 3dB), while vertical coverage is
determined by the quantity of 6-degree cabinets utilized
in any given array. Once the e-Capsule is then flanked
with two single 15” Baltic birch trapezoidal e-Enclosures.
The Birch enclosures provide the acoustical integrity and
natural warmth of a wooden cabinet, but since they are
simply bolted onto the side of the e-Capsule, there is no
influence over the rigging alignment.
The Blueprint® Software Suite provides adaptive
feedback and equalization, optimizing performance
from venue to venue. Blueprint simulates, controls
and monitors your system, providing the fastest setups
with educated feedback, allowing engineers to make
informed decisions in tough situations that are faced
day in and day out on the road.

MONITORS
M Series
The Adamson M Series offers users a range of high
powered stage monitors for a variety of demanding
applications.
The M12 is the most compact, while the M15 has proven
to be a success as a lightweight, high horsepower
monitor. Since its inception the M15 has found itself on
an ever-growing number of technical riders worldwide.
Both M15 and M12 can be ordered complete with an
Active/Passive switchable crossover network, or in an
active only version.
The newest addition to the family, the M212 delivers all
the characteristics of the Adamson M12 monitor but
with the added benefit of low frequency extension,
making the M212 the perfect solution where you require
extended low end punch while maintaining the vocal
clarity of a 12” wedge.
The biggest and meanest member of the family is
the extremely powerful M215. With all the fine sonic
qualities of the M15, the M215 utilizes two 15” drivers
rather than one, and takes advantage of the larger
cavity volume to produce massive low end. The M215
is ideal for artists that insist on having big monitor rigs
with substantial output. The impressive bass response
also allows the M215 to act as a standalone drumfill.
M12The incredibly lightweight Adamson M12 monitor delivers
everything you need in a low profile stage monitor:
fantastic gain before feedback, precise pattern control
and high output with extremely low distortion.
Together, the symmetrical trapezoid design and the 65°
conical waveguide, allow any two cabinets to operate as
a mirrored pair.
The M12 exhibits remarkably low distortion thanks to the
qualities of its advanced multilayer Kevlar cone driver and
Adamson’s proprietary Advanced Cone Architecture™.
Adamson’s first lightweight, 12” Kevlar Neodymium driver
supplies exceptional power handling with outstanding
mid frequency response, ideal for demanding vocal
performance.

M15Loaded with our ND15-L driver and a 4” diaphragm
compression driver, this wedge produces extremely
high SPL. The M15 is a first-class tool for demanding
applications.
Featuring an extremely low profile, symmetrical trapezoid
design with a 50° conical waveguide, the M15 allows any
two cabinets to work together in a mirror image monitor
configuration.
The breakthrough in our Advanced Cone Architecture™
makes our ND15 driver the only 15” drivers with zero axial
modes in its entire pass band. This dramatically increases
the linearized mid-range response, while maintaining a
rock solid bottom end, something that is impossible to
achieve with a 15” paper driver. The M15 has unsurpassed
output and less distortion than any monitor in its class.

CONVENTIONAL ENCLOSURES
The SX Series is a powerful and effective solution for
a main P.A. system, or as an additional side- or drum-
fill to complement a variety of touring or permanent
applications. Naturally, the SX18 and SX Sub are
loaded with our proprietary driver technology. The SX
Sub offers a tilt back wheel system while SX18’s are
fitted with a dolly board, making transport of either
cabinet a breeze.
Designers have the option to utilize the SX18 as a
single cabinet or an array of cabinets. The trapezoidal
SX18 enclosure comes standard with a switchable
passive network between the mids and highs, allowing
for two-way or three-way operation.
With one Adamson MSX 10” mid-range compression
driver, and one 3” diaphragm high frequency
compression driver mounted on an Adamson mid/
high waveguide, the SX18 provides smooth mid/high
coverage that we are renowned for. To add to its
versatility, the SX18 features one Adamson AW18 18”
LF transducer and can extend down to 45Hz for jazz
or lighter material.
If additional sub bass re-enforcement is required, the
companion SX Sub is a dual 18” front loaded cabinet
that provides a solid and punchy sub extension.
Whether you need a reliable system for your venue, or
rugged and sturdy enhancement to your existing rig,
the SX series offers a high output solution for a broad
range of applications.
