Art and Alzheimer’s Program
• Dementia is not a normal part of ageing
• An estimated 269,000 Australians currently live with dementia
• One in four people over the age of 85 have dementia
• Each week, there are 1500 new cases of dementia in Australia
• Dementia is the third leading cause of death in Australia, after heart disease and stroke
• Dementia is fatal and, as yet, there is no cure

Aims of an Art and Alzheimer’s Program
• Promote social inclusion
• Provide intellectual stimulation for people living with Dementia
• Improve wellbeing and quality of life
• Promote within the general public a greater awareness of this health issue
• Reduce the social stigma associated with Dementia.
