ADVANCES IN UROLOGY CME Intercontinental Buckhead Hotel - Atlanta, GA Decemr 6-7, 2013 Emory Department of Urology and Emory University School of Medicine Psent Information PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES Urology is a constantly evolving field that requires the consistent review of diagnostic and treatment strategies. Specifically, the areas of prostate cancer, pediatric urology, urinary tract reconstruction, urolithiasis, socioeco- nomics of medicine, and office urology include subjects with recent emerging information and strategies for managing those urologic conditions. Urologic providers need up-to-date reviews of these topics that affect the care of their patients. CORE COMPETENCIES: PATIENT CARE AND MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE is course contributes to the American Board of Urology Maintenance of Certification requirements of 90 hours of CME. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES After attending this meeting participants should be able to: n Discuss the appropriate use of testosterone replacement therapy in patients with a history of prostate cancer n Describe urine tests for prostate cancer that are approved by the FDA or under development that may address pitfalls of PSA screening and improve prostate cancer early detection n Review the new agents that have been recently developed for the treatment of castrate resistant prostate cancer n Discuss the appropriate use of novel intravesical therapies for patients with refractory superficial bladder cancer n Explain the office work up and management of the infertile male patient n Discuss the new trends in the management of pediatric vesicoureteral reflux and varicocele n Review the diagnosis and treatment of complex male urethral stricture disease n Explain the expanding role of mid-level providers in your urology practice n Describe the appropriate diagnostic tests and treatments for patients with post-prostatectomy incontinence n Identify new treatment trends for the care of patients with complex and recurrent urolithiasis WHO SHOULD ATTEND Urologists, Urology Residents, Physician Assistants, and Urology Nurses TUITION AND CANCELLATION POLICY e tuition charge of $425 for physicians and $300 for residents and non-physicians, includes continental breakfasts, luncheon, refreshment breaks, course syllabus, and other amenities involved with a rewarding learn- ing experience. Cancellation prior to November 6, 2013 must be submitted in writing and will be refunded less a $50 administrative fee. ere is no refund after November 6, 2013. Emory University School of Medicine reserves the right to cancel all programs and return all fees. e liability of Emory University School of Medi- cine is limited to the course fee.
