Agitating Elements

For different operating conditi-ons in the individual fields ofindustry, tank agitators (typeRT) with V-belt drive are available. Special designs with gearmotor and flexible coupling.

Dimensioning of the agitatorand selection of agitating

The photos show HOESCH tank agitators with V-belt drive. Completesingle or double-acting mechanicalseal with integrated antifriction bearing and a shut-down seal.

The mechanical seal can be ex-changed even when the tank is filled. Second bearing near the V-belt drive.

The agitator lantern is made of special cast iron (or of wel-ded steel) and has a hingedmotor plate. The solid shaftsare guided in two large antifric-

tion bearings.The installed single or double-acting mechanical seal has abuilt-in antifriction bearing forthe shaft. The second anti-friction bearing is located in a screwable bearing housing,near the upper bearing lantern,so it is best located near the V-belt drive.

Dimensioning of tank agitatorsfor lateral installation is basedon our basic knowledgethanks to extensive tests andsupplies already since 1962 for crude oil, phosphoric acidplants with gypsum, titaniumdioxide plants, washing agentsas well as water glass, paints and varnishes, absorber discharges and residual dis-charges in flue gas desulphuri-sation, sewage, etc.

This advanced line of compact HSR agitators withone-piece lantern meets the high requirementsmade on industrial agitators in every respect.

The bearing lantern is equipped with a doubleantifriction bearing system to optimize shaft gui-ding. Different shaft diameters according to DIN.

Thanks to this special construction different typesof sealings and drives can be used. HSR agitators are suited for demanding agitatingtasks in all branches of industry.

HOESCH Agitators, type R / RSare very robust and suitable forall tank sizes.

The most important componentparts are graded according to amodular system. Thanks tointerchangeability of supportsfor seal and coupling, numerouscombinations as to the bearinglantern are possible. An inter-mediate flange allows the use

against lubricant leakage andcontamination. The shaft isalways connected with thedrive unit by a flexible coupling.Very long shafts are made ofseveral parts, connected byflanged couplings, to facilitatetransport and assembly.

DIN Agitators with quick change attachment for simpleand quick exchange of the mechanical seal. Standard sizes RFG 3 – RFG 6 Shaft ø from 80 to 200 mm

HOESCH Agitators, type RFG,complete the range with well-proved standard seriesHSR, R and RS. On the photoyou see an advanced unitwhere the mechanical seal can be laterally removed.

Thus, disassembly of the gearlantern is not necessary. Theagitator lantern and the tankkeep connected.

After removal of the inter-mediate shaft and couplinghalf, the complete mechanicalseal with integrated antifrictionbearing can be removed bymeans of a lifting device. Weespecially point to the lowheight of the agitator drive.Thus, no additional height is

required for disassembly of the sealing.

The parts are easily accessible,since wide lantern openingsfacilitate disassembly. A two-part support plate below thebase plate supports the wholeagitator shaft.

Upon request, this series can be ordered with hydraulic liftingdevice.
