AGRICULTURE IN PAKISTAN

AGRICULTURE

Agriculture is the main occupation of Pakistan. About 25% of Pakistan’s total land area is under cultivation.

If any country’s main occupation is agriculture then it means that, that country is an under-developed country.

CROPS

There are two types of crops:- Kharif crops Rabi crops Kharif Crops are those crops that are grown in

rainy season like monsoon Examples of Kharif Crops include:- Maize, millet, rice, sugarcane and cotton.

CROPS

Rabi Crops are those crops which are grown in the winter season.

Examples of Rabi Crops include:- Wheat, Gram and Mustard.

AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS

The main Agricultural Products of Pakistan are cotton, wheat, rice and sugarcane.

Pakistan is one of the world’s largest producer of cotton.
