Key Initiatives6

On the Horizon…Digital Landscape AssessmentOverall, social media use is maturing as evidenced by associations becoming more strategic in its use – seeing greater success and satisfaction from their efforts. An extensive AHIA-sponsored research brief was completed in 2015. The results reveal online attitudes and behaviors of healthcare internal auditing professionals and industry influencers. The Board is currently evaluating a strategy to engage in social media to benefit our members. Our study identified more than 5 million search queries related to healthcare internal auditing and over 18K online conversations, resulting in over 134 million estimated impressions from March 2013 through February 2015. (RFP stage)

Certification and eLearningConsideration of Healthcare IA Certification development is in process (RFP stage). The AHIA University eLearning platform will debut in early 2016.

Kennesaw University Graduate Education Initiative Kennesaw State University recently approved a Master of Science in Healthcare Management and Informatics. The program will begin in the fall of 2016.  AHIA has been approached as a sounding board and intellectual partner on this graduate education initiative during its formative stage. Our involvement would direct course content to real world application in the area of healthcare fraud risks/controls. (MOU stage)
