He asserted that having control over themcould help in the ultimate liberation ofhumans. Essentially, he stressed on thecontrol of our mind for an effective life, sothere is a need for one to take control oftheir own lives. He elucidated on thefactors that affected lives such ascommonsense, consciousness, reincarnation, near death experiences andthe verses from the Bhagavad Gita. Thefear of mortality and the three gates offailure (lust, greed and anger) stops onefrom realizing the depths of life and thereal self, he described as the cause for ourinability to realise our self. ContemplationColumns

A column exclusively created for future teachers, wherethey have put forth their views on relevant issues.

1. We are moving towardsa blended mode ofeducation in future, theunderstanding of aclassroom also changes, soas aspiring teachers howwould you imagine yourclassroom ?

2. As a Policy, does NEP2020, bring alteration inthe role of a teacher?

"Hybrid mode of teachingincludes both traditionalface to face classes andonline classes. As ateacher, I would definitelyhave an alternative lessonplan so as to support boththe modes. The theorywould be covered in onlinemode whereas thediscussion and activities inoffline, so as to makeevery student feel thatthey are invited in thediscussion. "

- SONALI CHAKROBARTY(Sem- II, B.Ed)

3. Share your mostmemorable / favoritemoment of the onlineclassroom setup.

"The policy I believe willbring about educationalreforms and make theteacher more of aparticipant and facilitatorrather than just merelyimpart knowledge. It willensure that the teacherwill grow and developwith the pace of thestudent.

-ANUPAMA P KUMAR(Sem- II, B.Ed)

It was a first for us ononline mode with amassive participation . Weall cherished the momentand got the confidence todo many more of such actsin future. Ma'am tooappreciated us for thesame.

- NEHA CHANDHOKE (Sem- II, B.Ed)

4. We all were school-students once and haveasked our share of absurdquestions to a teacher. Share the questionwith other futureteacher along withyour hindsight onhow would, you asa teacher tacklethe same.

Once I was really enjoyingan economics lecture bymy favourite teacher in11thstandard , I was sorelaxed that I happened toask the teacher" may Iplease remove my shoesand socks to relax andlisten to the theory ?". Itwas surely an absurdquestion when I think backbut seemed like the mostrelevant at the time. If Iwere the teacher, I wouldhave allowed the studentbut definitely told him/her"please don't get toorelaxed and dose off "on alighter note. Yes, thedecorum and discipline ofthe class needs to bemaintained but also a littleflexibility allows freethinking which is essentialfor holistic development.

My most memorablemoment is when weenacted a Nukkadnatak on"beti padhao-beti bachao"topic in creativeexpression class. We alldressed according to therole, I had written thescript and all the studentsparticipated in it, I had 18roles in the play, allenacted very well.

- NEHA CHANDHOKE (Sem- II, B.Ed)

"The man feeding the dog and the happiness seen on the face ofthe dog is what I call a random act of kindness."

- KAVERI SHARMA (Sem-II, B.Ed)

The Editorial team of Amity Institute of Education invited“Photographic Entries” on the themes “Everyday Moments” and“Random acts of Kindness” for the Newsletter “AIE Sandesh”.Students from different courses of the institute had sent theirentries.

The photograph captures the essence of kindness andwarmth that emanates in the mundane of life. The lenseshave aptly captured the theme of kindness and the beautyof the geniality, as the old man tears the packet to feedthe patient dog.

The imageepitomizesthe beautyand simplicityof the dailymoments, which thoughseems so run-of-the-mill butevokesemotions ofempathy andcompassion.
