U Prime 2 - Safety First - LTF/EN A

The perfect successor to the U Prime, rated one of the safest wings on the

market (according to independent DHV Safety Class testing) you can trust the U

Prime 2 100% because it offers the maximum passive safety and is a pleasure

to fly from the very first moment. The U Prime 2 is the perfect glider for begin-

ners and occasional pilots.

The complex construction with diagonal V-ribs to reduce line drag, nylon rods in

the leading edge to maintain form and optimally positioned cell openings and

crossports to allow the ideal amount of air movement within the wing all work together to produce higher

canopy stability across the entire speed range - in smooth air as well as in turbulent conditions.

With its uncompromising emphasis on safety together with an outstanding glide, low weight and high top

speed the U Prime 2 is a glider you can grow with: the perfect glider while learning but it will also take you

so much further.

Great flying pleasure with the highest safety margin

The DHV classified the U Prime as one of the safest wings on the market,

rated as Safety Class 2: the ideal choice as a school wing and for the beginner

pilot.

U Fly 2 - LTF/EN B

The AirCross U fly 2 provides the perfect combination of security and perfor-

mance for the pilot who wants passive safety but still have the performance to go

XC.

With each generation of glider comes innovation and new ideas. We have im-

proved on the U Fly in every aspect: the U Fly 2 is lighter, has a greater speed

range and handles better both in the air and on the ground. We have completely

reworked the nose profile, adding rods to maintain form and reduce weight which

has improved handling and glide. Precisely positioned crossports ensure lateral ventilation between cham-

bers and accelerate re-inflation after collapse. The U Fly 2 now has split A’s to facilitate Big Ears and small-

er line diameters obtained by a hybrid line mix of both unsheathed Aramid lines and PPSL Dyneema lines.

This mix guarantees reduced line drag and an even better line length resistance over the years

U Fly 2 Powered Paraglider- DGAC 23-05 Paramotor

Thanks to its predictable take-off behaviour, high passive safety and great stability, the U Fly 2 is ideally

suited for powered paragliding and it is also available in a certified paramotor version with motor trim risers.

Why not test our U fly2 because a test flight says more than words ever can.

U Cross - LTF/EN C

Freedom is what motivates xc-pilots; to discover new landscapes, powered by the

sun and wind, a place where there are no limits. It was with this in mind that we

designed the U Cross – Discover new dimensions in XC flying with a high level of

safety, security and fun.

The U Cross is one of the best-performing 3-line gliders in its class with excellent

climb rates, an outstanding glide ratio and awesome handling. Marcus King, editor of

Cross Country Mag writes in his review about the U Cross: “This is a real rally car of

the skies with what must be the most direct handling in its class, more akin to high-end D wings. It’s the kind

of handling that puts a huge smile on your face – I know it did me.”

This very tight, flat thermalling is one of the main characteristics that separates the U Cross from the rest.

Marcus continues: “In thermals it’s easy to keep the wing banked up with only small inputs of the brakes to

keep it in place. The agility of the wing means you can get in close and make the most of even the smallest

bubbles of lift. Once centred the wing needs very little attention and you can concentrate on the next move.”

We designed the U Cross as a pure three line glider, reducing line drag by 33% and using a hybrid line mix

to reduce drag further still. Record-breaking 76 cells. The U Cross is the most sophisticated three line glider

in the EN/LTF C class which guarantees ultimate profile accuracy and performance. We applied the latest

technologies to the U Cross, including Rigifoil2, Gibus Arcs 2 and Mini ribs at the trailing edge for a smooth

profile and best performance. The U Cross offers you a “high performance” glider which has usable perfor-

mance and this puts it in a class of it’s own. Performance data that is useless in active or turbulent air just

doesn’t mean anything. Discover for yourself what true performance means and don´t be fooled.

Trust in your feelings! Test fly the U Cross!

U Sport 2 - LTF/EN D

In 2010/11 the U Sport was one of the best selling gliders in the LTF/EN D class.

Why? High passive safety and top performance! And that´s exactly what the new U

Sport 2 delivers. With over two years of development, countless test flights and the

integration of technologies such as Rigifoil, Gibus Arcs 2 and Mini Rips we are proud

to say the U Sport 2 has become a worthy successor to the U Sport. It is one of the

safest and best LTF/EN D class gliders on the market.

Further, faster, higher - every cross country and competition pilot has this thought.

But in the search for more performance your glider often loses out on passive safety or handling. Some

competition gliders are very difficult to launch or have a tendency to deep stall or spin. With the U Sport 2,

we have achieved maximum performance without major safety or handling losses. And after many compari-

son flights with today’s best competition gliders from other manufacturers we see that the U Sport 2 lacks

nothing in performance – but with the huge safety advantage of a 3-Line glider!

The U Sport 2 offers very good handling with excellent climb. It can be turned tight and flat and shows no

tendency to spin or stall. The new aerofoil shape shows a high true glide ratio in both smooth and turbulent

air. After all, the best theoretical glide ratio is of no use if your glider is hard to handle or climbs poorly.

The U Sport 2 is completely equipped with aramid lines to avoid the shrinkage problems of Dyneema. The

outer wing shape, which is also used on the U6, gives the U Sport 2 a higher projected area and aspect

ratio and results in a better climb and glide. We use the latest materials, such as Skytex 32 and 36 gram

fabric to keep the weight as low as possible but without compromising durability.

Fly the U Sport 2 and you will instantly feel at home and safe. Its extraordinarily high performance is easily

accessible making it simple for pilots to realise their dreams!

U6 - Competition

Discover the 6th sense with the new U6² – our new pure 2- line competition glider. In 2005 the designer Hervé “Gibus” Corbon invented the first

flyable 2- line competition glider the U3². In 2010 Gibus designed the U5² with more than 33% less line length than the U4. And now in 2011 we

have the new U6². Due to a number of changes we were able to enhance the performance by far compared to previous models

The U6² uses a hybrid line system with the stabilo, reducing total line

length to a minimum. With the U6 we completely redesigned the

wingtips to decrease induced drag. With these wingtips we get a

much higher projected surface and aspect ratio leading to a much

better climb and glide compared to previous models.

With the U6² we decided to use lighter materials resulting in better

handling in the air and on the ground. The lighter canopy also climbs

better and behaves better in critical situations. In the U6² we use

construction details like the AirCross Arc-System², RigidFoil², Mini

rips on the trailing edge, the new design wingtips with less drag and

a great performing profile which makes the U6² to one of the fastest

and best performing gliders in competition.

The U6² is available in 2 standard color designs: black/white/orange

and black/white/green.

22.07.2012 – BIG XC – U6² flies 316 km in the middle of France!

To fly over 300 km you don´t have to travel to Africa, South America or

Australia. A good pilot and a high performance wing is all you need to fly

316 km in the middle of France.

Congratulations to Franck Arnaud to the 316 km flight with his U6².

AirCross – a short history

In the 1980s a French designer by the name of Hervé

'Gibus' Corbon began to design and build paragliders

under the label AirCross, initially just for himself and his

friends. His designs were extraordinary and word slowly

filtered out so in 2000, with the release of the U3 competi-

tion glider, AirCross the company was formed.

Initially the focus was on the competition market and the de-

sire to build the best there is. The u3 was ground breaking: the

first pure 3 line glider ever produced and with an unheard of

aspect ratio of 7.4 - exceptional even now. Not surprisingly its

performance was unmatched. A few years later Gibus took the

concept even further when he designed and flew the first ever 2

liner ... long before the rest of the industry even believed it was

possible. Always on the forefront of glider design he pioneered the

use of CAD in the design process and possibly one of his most

significant innovations was the use of plastic wires to support the

internal ribs (now known across the market as the Gibus arch).

In 2007 Konrad Görg, a passionate competition pilot who was flying

the U3 in the German League met with Gibus and flew a U4 prototype.

He was so impressed with the new glider that they started to work to-

gether and the company began to expand into the serial clas-

ses: first the hugely successful U Sport (EN D) and then

the U Cross (EN C) - with Konrad flying his personal

best in Brazil that year on a U Cross prototype -

255km.

Over the next few years two more designers

joined the team - Paul Amiell with more than 20

years’ experience designing paragliders and Julien

Lutringer, a young French Acro pilot taught to design

by Gibus himself. The company now have a full com-

plement of gliders in all serial classes, a tandem, an acro

wing and the U6.

AirCross have always been synonymous with amazing design and quality materi-

als. And in an age when the lines between the serial classes are being blurred,

AirCross wings are designed firmly around the pilot: from the EN A U-Prime which

has been rated one of the safest gliders* on the market to the U Fly 2 which is firmly

seated in the middle of the EN B class and the ideal wing for the pilot who is looking

to move up (or down) but without compromising on passive safety to the sublime U

Sport (EN D) with its unrivalled combination of usable performance and safety.

Each wing designed for purpose with you the pilot in mind - why not take one out for a

test flight to see for yourself.
