PUPIL FREE DAY
Our last Pupil Free Day for this year will be held next MONDAY 16th NOVEMBER.
On this day staff will be reviewing our Site Improvement Plan and setting new targets for 2021. We will also establish our classes for 2021 and allocate teachers and students to these classes. In the afternoon, Eden Williamson-Cameron from the Australian Childhood Foundation will return to work with staff on developing a whole school approach to working with students who have experienced/are experiencing trauma in their lives. Mr. Daniel Seidel, our new Principal, will also be joining us on this day.
CONCERT
Letters will go home next Monday which will explain the token system we will be using for Parents/Carers to attend the Concert this year. While the performance will be held over 2 nights, we are only allowed to have 120 adults in the Gym at one time. Therefore Parents/Carers will have to choose which night they wish to attend. Once you have read the instructions in the letter, if you have any queries, please contact me at the school.
OSHC/VACATION CARE
Unfortunately, due to ill health, Maxine Armit has tendered her resignation from the position of Director of this service. Maxine has been running this programme for some 24 years and has provided outstanding service to the general community in Port Pirie during this time and her loss will certainly be felt by everyone. Our teachers have come to the fore and volunteered to supervise the programme in order to keep the service open as we search for a suitable replacement. I hope we will be able to announce Maxine’s replacement in the coming days.
PREMIER’S READING CHALLENGE
Each year our students are encouraged to participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge encouraging students right across the school to read both at school and at home. Mrs. P. (Cheryn Pasculli) has really pushed this programme by talking to staff and students about the benefits of the Challenge as well as revamping the whole Library to make it a welcoming place for students to spend time in. We have just been informed that Airdale is one of
the top 55 Outstanding Premier’s Reading Challenge Schools in the State in this year’s challenge. Congratulations to all the students involved and thank you Mrs. P. for your commitment and dedication to this event!
MATERIALS & SERVICES CHARGES
We still have a few Materials & Services Fees outstanding at this time. Could I ask Parents to please pay these overdue fees as soon as possible? If you have any issues with the fees, please contact Brenda in the Front Office.

On the 11th of November, Upper Primary Students held a Remembrance Day Service for the school. Poppies were made by
each student and our class captains placed wreaths at the front of the stage. It was
fantastic to see complete respect during the Last Post and minute silence.
