• Commonly known as Airtel, it is an Indian telecommunications services company headquartered at New Delhi, India and operating in 19 other countries.

• It operates a GSM network in all countries, providing 2G, 3G, and 4G services depending upon the country of operation.

• Airtel is the world's third-largest mobile telecommunications company with over 300 million subscribers across 20 countries as of August 2015. It is the largest cellular in India, with over 200 million subscribers as of September 2014.

• Airtel became first Indian telecom to offer 4G services on mobile phones

Introduction

INSIDE COMPANY• Telecomm companies like Airtel Bharti basically they have two main departments that

deals with Raising new sites or Modification/Expansion of old sites. Those two teams are:-

• Planning team• Deployment team

PROCESS OF RAISING NEW SITES

Process • First when complain comes to ZOM (zonal manager) he sends quality team to

search reason and location of problem (like near site is properly sending signals or not or if the angle of antenna is to be tilted toward downward etc.) and if problem can not be solved then they send lat and long of the location to the planning team of Airtel, then the role of planning team comes.• The planning team sends a survey team to the location and their they check for

the location and population of area for calculating the capacity of BTS required.• Then the role of deployment team comes the deployment team sends their

acquisition member to the infra partners and asks them to raise a new site.• Then for that deployment team has to raise S.R.(service request) to the infra

partner’s portal (i.e. telling the height and azimuth of antenna required , no. of magazine and space required , power requirement)

Continue..• Now infra partner will send their acquisition employee to that location to check

whether they can provide the required specifications or not.• Now S.P(site proposal) is released by infra company.• Then planning and deployment team will consider SP and will send S.O (site

order) to the infra company.• Then infra company will send their team and will ready the site as per

requirement and release RFAI(Ready for active installation) to deployment.

Continue..• Then deployment team will send INST (installation) to active partners (Ericson).• Active partner will send INT(integration) when site starts to send and receive

signal.• Then Deployment will display that site as RFS(ready for service).• And also will hand over to Airtel for legal formalities and site goes on H.O.B (hand

over to business).

CONSTRUCTION OF TOWER• AIM –

• To build a working telecommunication tower.• MATERIAL REQUIRED –• GSM Antenna• Jumper wire• RRU (radio remote unit) for 4g/3g• BTS(outdoor/indoor)• Shield ground kit• Conduit Wire• Fiber• Microwave antenna • M.C.B.• Weather proof tape• Sector labels, colour tape for labelling• Input/output wire• Precaution kit

PROCEDURE-STEP 1• Connect 1 end of jumper wire (i.e. foldable wire) with Radio Receiving Unit

and Other end with GSM antenna.• Connect the BTS with MCB and Provide -48V power supply.• Connect 1 end of input/output cable with BTS and other end with RRU.• Cover fiber with the conduit wire (that connect GSM and BTS).• Connect 1 end of the fiber with BTS and the other end with Microwave

antenna.• Do weather proof tapping on the ports of the GSM antenna where the

jumper wire is connected.• Label the transmitting and other receiving jumper wire with different sector

labels.

Continue..• Roll1 end of the ground shielding cable with jumper wire and the

other end with the BTS.• The site is now ready for service (RFS).• Now the active partners (ZTE, ERICSSON, and HUAWEI etc.) look after

the BTS cabinet proper spacing, height, azimuthal of the antenna.
