Project: Primary Healthcare Trust Reception Client: Community Solutions Architect: Capita Percy Thomas Fitting: B-Line Desk Square One Looklight Aktiva recommended a lighting scheme and the lights for a 200m2 reception. Scheme is a template for the client’s future primary healthcare reception projects.

Project: Sopwell House Hotel, Herts Client: AB Hotels Fitting: Bedside LED & Shaded Fluorescent Aktiva briefed to design contemporary but value-engineered fitting for bedside. Designed and supplied in 6 weeks.

Project: Accessorize Lights Client: Monsoon Accessorize Interior Designer: JHP Fitting: Large Shaded Feature Lighting Client required special shaded fittings with bespoke design for a worldwide rollout. Aktiva can make shades with designs to virtually any size.

DRAGONFLY APARTMENTS Project: Dragonfly Apartments, Bermondsey, London Client: Wharf Developments Interior Designer: Idom UK Fitting: B-Line/Mirror Quality in the detail of a project is a driver for Wharf Developments. Aktiva has designed a bathroom mirror light based on its highly versatile b-line range of linear fluorescents for this 40-apartment scheme.

ICON Icon is a luminaire projecting images, colours and graphics on a curved polycarbonate surface. A decorative light fitting for restaurants and clubs, reception areas, corridors, retail display, exhibition and domestic environments.

ICON IMAGE Images to client’s requirements may be produced. Icon image uses silkscreen, digital printing or vinyls depending on production numbers and type of artwork.

ICON ONE Single or multiples of images to client’s requirements on paper or film encapsulated between clear and opal polycarbonate shades. Images easily changed over.

ICON LONG Gels in combinations of client’s choice to give unique colour effects. Vinyls, digital printing and image encapsulation also available.

UK Waste Equipment and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations

From July 1, 2007 the WEEE Directive comes into force in the UK. Under the regulations AktivaSystems Ltd are legally responsible for the collection and recycling of Aktiva light fittings classifiedas gas discharge lamped and sold into the UK market. This class of light fitting covers metal halideand fluorescent lamped fittings.

In order to adhere to these regulations Aktiva has joined WeeeCare a WEEE compliance scheme.WeeeCare will assume collection and recycling duties on Aktiva’s behalf as and when the relevantfittings reach end of life.

A fixed re-cycling charge will have to be imposed to recover the WEEE Regulation costs from July1. In line with other fitting and lamp manufacturers and to ensure transparency this charge will beshown separately on our invoices. The charge is .30/light fitting where the fitting is defined as agas discharge lamped fitting (ie- fluorescent and metal halide lamps). No other Aktiva light fittingsare affected.

Lamp manufacturers Osram, Philips and Sylvania have advised us that they will be charging.15/lamp. We are obliged to pass this charge on to our customers also.

We will do our best to ensure that our customers are provided with all necessary backup andinformation regarding the scheme. The crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol and Producer IdentificationMark will appear on Aktiva product identification labels of relevant fluorescent and metal halidelight fittings.

Collection free of charge of the relevant end-of-life Aktiva light fittings will be effected uponinforming WeeeCare at the phone number below. Recovery of end-of-life lamps is the responsibilityof the appropriate manufacturer’s compliance scheme.
