Last month I began my breakfast show on radio and for the first time in about seven years I have to get up in the morning. Not good. However, what is good is there are a surprising number of (alert) people at eight o’clock in the morning, and now I’m one of them!

Real Radio began a couple of years ago under the leadership of founder Cliff Roberts and has now grown to become one of the most popular expat stations in the region and worldwide with a huge amount of listeners (many with homes in Spain) living in other countries that are all interested in what is going on in Spain. My thanks go to Diamond Blue, Ruby Tuesdays, Go Satellite, Howells Removals, Coys car hire and Sharon Hulbert of Real Estate Solutions, who have all supported me, and often. Without companies like these and the others that support us we couldn’t give you a free mag and i couldn’t waffle on over the air-waves! Thanks!.

Talking of interest in Spain I attended the A Place in the Sun Exhibition at Olympia in April as a guest to talk about life in Spain and I can assure many readers that there is still loads of people looking to make the move from the UK and soon! The estate agents from the Costa Blanca that were represented there all reported, during a fun plane journey home, that they had been busier this year than for a long time. A chat with local removals specialists, Howells Removals on my return told me much the same story with manager Anne telling me that they had more people moving out to Spain than returning to the UK than any time in the last four years!

Despite the UK press’s grey image of life in Spain things are moving, jobs are being created; Valencia sold more new cars in the first quarter of this year than it has for the equivalent period in previous years and Alicante saw a DROP in unemployment during the same period – it didn’t get reported in the UK press…

The expat press here should take a good hard look at themselves too with doom and gloom on the front page in an effort at sensationalism, while the businesses that rely on people living and coming to Spain have to see them telling everyone how bad it is! It really does beggar belief but then, it’s their business I guess.

So... enough moaning and on with the show, I mean magazine! Days out for under a tenner, is the UK cheaper than Spain? And our fun quiz to see just how ‘European’ you really are!

Read on and enjoy…

Shine on Spain!

To make a Spanish will for their Spanish assets has always been a favoured option by for-eign property owners in Spain.

It makes it easier for the heirs and

allows the presentation of the rel-

evant inheritance tax declarations

within the time frame given by the

tax authorities, thereby avoiding

the payment of penalty surcharges.

A Spanish will is authorised by a

Spanish Notary and registered in

Madrid. The procedure is simple

and has put many a testators’ mind

at rest.

Until now that is. Because a Eu-

ropean Regulation was passed in

2012 according to which the law

of succession (inheritance) will

be the law of the country where

the deceased had his/her habitual

residence at the time of death. The

said regulation will apply to suc-

cessions of persons who die on or

after the 17th August 2015.

However, foreigners in Spain can

opt for their national law to apply

when making a Spanish will. This

has to be expressively mentioned

in the said Will.

National laws on succession differ

greatly between England and Spain.

Under Spanish law at least two

thirds of the estate will be inherited

by descendants whereas English

law does not have forced heirs and,

generally, you can leave it to who-

ever you wish.

If you have children but left every-

thing to your spouse on your Span-

ish Will it is advisable to check that

the said Will is made according to

your national law. If not, it will be

best to make a new Will in which

you opt for the application of the

same.

The inheritance tax issue is not

affected by this law. A transfer of

assets by inheritance has always

been subject to the payment of in-

heritance tax in Spain.

So does it still hold true that

Spain is a cheaper place to live

than the UK? To answer that we

need to take several factors into

account, for example will you be

living the same type of lifestyle

when you start your new life in

Spain? Or are you moving abroad

to retire or wind down a little and

perhaps get a part-time job? If

your lifestyle is likely to be differ-

ent when you make the move it is

well worth taking into account the

possibility that you could have far

more leisure time on your hands

and budget, if necessary, accord-

ingly.

Way of life

Another thing to have in mind is that the

Spanish do live very economically with

most meals eaten at home with family

and, for most, one coffee or small beer

will last at least an hour if they are out

with friends. Most leisure time too is spent

inexpensively, often walks with family or

just meeting up for the aforementioned

beverage, but not spending much more

than the loose change they carry. While

we, as northern Europeans, have a tenden-

cy to spend more than we need - I know

when my family visit for a

week there is always lots

of items left over;

toothpaste, food,

cartons

of milk

and

more,

and

the vast

majority of

it well known brands from the UK where a

cheaper, but just as good Spanish alterna-

tive would be more than an adequate sub-

stitute. The Spanish are also more likely to

buy as they need and not overspend.

It will also depend on where you live too of

course. Moving from perhaps a rural set-

ting in northern England to an apartment

in, or near, a city will see your general

costs rise because cities are an expen-

sive place to live anywhere in the world.

The trick is to compare like for like where

possible, and if not be aware of increased,

or maybe even decreased, expenditure -

depending on your choice of way of life in

Spain.

Find the middle ground

However, none of that answer the question

about whether Spain is a cheap place to

live but to answer that we need to com-

pare, to only with the United Kingdom, but

also with how Spain has performed with

regards to it being economically attractive,

over recent years.

There is some evi-

dence showing

that

the

gap

in the cost of living between Spain and UK

has narrowed over recent years but not by

very much and when it comes to spend-

ing you money in the shop - unless you

head off with the intention of buying your

favourite UK brands as you did back home,

then of course your till receipt is not going

to offer a true reflection of the difference

in costs as if you had replaced those items

with alternative products more common to

the Spanish shopper.

AS a general rule of thumb, the closer

your life is to the life of the local Spanish

population around you the cheaper your

shopping bill gets and if you’re prepared

to take a trip to local markets you can bag

even more bargain produce and signifi-

cantly reduce your costs.

Those of us who have lived in Spain for a

little while manage to find a happy medium

when buying our shopping and blend our

favourite products from back home with

local produce. Marmite on Spanish toast

in the morning - perfect! One item that

has increased relatively is the cost of fuel

for motor vehicles has seen a rise that

has made the price more comparable with

the UK - although Spain is still about 17%

cheaper overall. Utilities

The costs of services, electricity, water,

rates and telephones are still gener-

ally a good deal

cheaper

in Spain

than in

the UK,

although

internet

is still

a little

more

expensive

with the monopoly of Movistar over and

a free market now operating, competition

is driving prices to the consumer down in

that sector too. When taken as a whole

(including bottled gas) the cost of an

average sized apartment in Spain would

be almost 40% less expensive to run than

a comparable one back in the UK - and

the rubbish bins are emptied every day in

Spain! Looking at the average cost of elec-

tricity per household in the UK, which in

2012 was 120 pounds, and comparing it to

Spain which was about the same numbers

but in euros shows us that with the arrival

of competition in the power markets of

Spain the traditionally high cost of electric-

ity to the home is starting to be reduced

which can only be good for the consumer.

On the menu

Eating out in Spain is still very much

cheaper than back in the UK with so many

places vying for customers the competition

(and therefore the quality too) is good for

all and with a meal for two in a medium-

priced restaurant working out at around 25

euros for two people that compares very

favourably but, as I said at the start, it

also depends on how often you go and if a

weekly treat in the UK turns into an almost

daily event in Spain - you will be spend-

ing more. A menu del dia in any Spanish

restaurant is pretty much a guarantee of

value for money and if you shop around

you can often have lunch for two people

and you may still get change from a ten

euro note!

Getting around

Fuel has increased in cost over recent

years but still remains a good 20 cents less

expensive than its Anglo equivalent and

again one should consider how much we

will be using a vehicle abroad as often it is

a lot less than back in the UK which when

factored in with the less costly car tax in

Spain (approximately 70% of the cost for

a matching car being road taxed in the UK)

and in-town parking costs roughly 50%

of the price of parking on Britain’s cities

streets it means that driving in Spain can

be relatively inexpensive, and the roads

are also a lot quieter too! As a footnote I

felt I should mention that the public trans-

port in Spain is relatively cheaper than

back in the UK with a train ride along the

coast to Benidorm from Alicante (approxi-

mately 40 miles) costing just 22.70 euros.

What about if you’re working?

Wages of course will be a consideration

and should also be taken into account if

we are to truly compare the two countries’

economies and while it still hold true that

in Spain the average wage is still a far bit

lower than that in the UK at 1400 euros of

disposable income per month while in the

UK it stands at around 1950 euros. How-

ever, Spain is catching up and while the UK

incomes were declared ‘stagnant’ because

they rose at the same rate as inflation

in recent years, Spain has seen a slight

increase in disposable income with income

rising faster than inflation since 2007.

It should also be noted that the average

worker in the UK needs to put in a shift

of around 48 hours per week to attain his

income while the average Spanish work-

ing week is 39 hours - the Spanish would

rather earn less and have more time with

the families, and that makes for a great

working philosophy!

SO Spain really is still relatively cheap

from a cost of living point of view and once

compared to other western European na-

tions it is clear that by living the life that

suits you, and preparing for it accordingly,

Spain is still an ideal destination for not

only its weather and healthy climate, but

so you can afford to live the life you want

to live in Spain but without the stresses

that come with a high cost of living.

As I write the latest figures arrive on

my laptop showing the cost of living

in Spain has actually come down in

several major sectors across the coun-

try. For example the cost of renting an

apartment has dropped about 10-20%

since the financial crisis began, and

some tourist areas have are reducing

the costs of items in shops to attract

(and keep) the popular regions buzz-

ing in the summer period.

and, for most, one coffee or small beer

will last at least an hour if they are out

with friends. Most leisure time too is spent

inexpensively, often walks with family or

just meeting up for the aforementioned

beverage, but not spending much more

than the loose change they carry. While

we, as northern Europeans, have a tenden-

cy to spend more than we need - I know

when my family visit for a

week there is always lots

of items left over;

toothpaste, food,

cartons

of milk

and

more,

and

the vast

majority of

regards to it being economically attractive,

over recent years.

There is some evi-

dence showing

that

the

gap

in the morning - perfect! One item that

has increased relatively is the cost of fuel

for motor vehicles has seen a rise that

has made the price more comparable with

the UK - although Spain is still about 17%

cheaper overall. Utilities

The costs of services, electricity, water,

rates and telephones are still gener-

ally a good deal

cheaper

in Spain

than in

the UK,

although

is still

a little

more

expensive

CAN YOU AFFORD TO LIVE THE LIFE IN SPAIN?

So does it still hold true that Spain is a

cheaper place to live than the UK? To an-

swer that we need to take several factors

into account, for example will you be liv-

ing the same type of lifestyle when you

start your new life in Spain? Or are you

moving abroad to retire or wind down a

little and perhaps get a part-time job? If

your lifestyle is likely to be different when

you make the move it is well worth taking

into account the possibility that you could

have far more leisure time on your hands

and budget, if necessary, accordingly.

Dave Bull looks into the costs of living in both the UK and Spain and high-lights just how expats can easily live a stress-free and relatively less ex-pensive life while still enjoying all that is best about this European hotspot!

So does it still hold true that

Spain is a cheaper place to live

than the UK? To answer that we

need to take several factors into

account, for example will you be

living the same type of lifestyle

when you start your new life in

Spain? Or are you moving abroad

to retire or wind down a little and

perhaps get a part-time job? If

your lifestyle is likely to be differ-

ent when you make the move it is

well worth taking into account the

possibility that you could have far

more leisure time on your hands

and budget, if necessary, accord-

ingly.

Way of life

Another thing to have in mind is that the

Spanish do live very economically with

most meals eaten at home with family

and, for most, one coffee or small beer

will last at least an hour if they are out

with friends. Most leisure time too is spent

inexpensively, often walks with family or

just meeting up for the aforementioned

beverage, but not spending much more

than the loose change they carry. While

we, as northern Europeans, have a tenden-

cy to spend more than we need - I know

when my family visit for a

week there is always lots

of items left over;

toothpaste, food,

cartons

of milk

and

more,

and

the vast

majority of

it well known brands from the UK where a

cheaper, but just as good Spanish alterna-

tive would be more than an adequate sub-

stitute. The Spanish are also more likely to

buy as they need and not overspend.

It will also depend on where you live too of

course. Moving from perhaps a rural set-

ting in northern England to an apartment

in, or near, a city will see your general

costs rise because cities are an expen-

sive place to live anywhere in the world.

The trick is to compare like for like where

possible, and if not be aware of increased,

or maybe even decreased, expenditure -

depending on your choice of way of life in

Spain.

Find the middle ground

However, none of that answer the question

about whether Spain is a cheap place to

live but to answer that we need to com-

pare, to only with the United Kingdom, but

also with how Spain has performed with

regards to it being economically attractive,

over recent years.

There is some evi-

dence showing

that

the

gap

in the cost of living between Spain and UK

has narrowed over recent years but not by

very much and when it comes to spend-

ing you money in the shop - unless you

head off with the intention of buying your

favourite UK brands as you did back home,

then of course your till receipt is not going

to offer a true reflection of the difference

in costs as if you had replaced those items

with alternative products more common to

the Spanish shopper.

AS a general rule of thumb, the closer

your life is to the life of the local Spanish

population around you the cheaper your

shopping bill gets and if you’re prepared

to take a trip to local markets you can bag

even more bargain produce and signifi-

cantly reduce your costs.

Those of us who have lived in Spain for a

little while manage to find a happy medium

when buying our shopping and blend our

favourite products from back home with

local produce. Marmite on Spanish toast

in the morning - perfect! One item that

has increased relatively is the cost of fuel

for motor vehicles has seen a rise that

has made the price more comparable with

the UK - although Spain is still about 17%

cheaper overall. Utilities

The costs of services, electricity, water,

rates and telephones are still gener-

ally a good deal

cheaper

in Spain

than in

the UK,

although

internet

is still

a little

more

expensive

with the monopoly of Movistar over and

a free market now operating, competition

is driving prices to the consumer down in

that sector too. When taken as a whole

(including bottled gas) the cost of an

average sized apartment in Spain would

be almost 40% less expensive to run than

a comparable one back in the UK - and

the rubbish bins are emptied every day in

Spain! Looking at the average cost of elec-

tricity per household in the UK, which in

2012 was 120 pounds, and comparing it to

Spain which was about the same numbers

but in euros shows us that with the arrival

of competition in the power markets of

Spain the traditionally high cost of electric-

ity to the home is starting to be reduced

which can only be good for the consumer.

On the menu

Eating out in Spain is still very much

cheaper than back in the UK with so many

places vying for customers the competition

(and therefore the quality too) is good for

all and with a meal for two in a medium-

priced restaurant working out at around 25

euros for two people that compares very

favourably but, as I said at the start, it

also depends on how often you go and if a

weekly treat in the UK turns into an almost

daily event in Spain - you will be spend-

ing more. A menu del dia in any Spanish

restaurant is pretty much a guarantee of

value for money and if you shop around

you can often have lunch for two people

and you may still get change from a ten

euro note!

Getting around

Fuel has increased in cost over recent

years but still remains a good 20 cents less

expensive than its Anglo equivalent and

again one should consider how much we

will be using a vehicle abroad as often it is

a lot less than back in the UK which when

factored in with the less costly car tax in

Spain (approximately 70% of the cost for

a matching car being road taxed in the UK)

and in-town parking costs roughly 50%

of the price of parking on Britain’s cities

streets it means that driving in Spain can

be relatively inexpensive, and the roads

are also a lot quieter too! As a footnote I

felt I should mention that the public trans-

port in Spain is relatively cheaper than

back in the UK with a train ride along the

coast to Benidorm from Alicante (approxi-

mately 40 miles) costing just 22.70 euros.

What about if you’re working?

Wages of course will be a consideration

and should also be taken into account if

we are to truly compare the two countries’

economies and while it still hold true that

in Spain the average wage is still a far bit

lower than that in the UK at 1400 euros of

disposable income per month while in the

UK it stands at around 1950 euros. How-

ever, Spain is catching up and while the UK

incomes were declared ‘stagnant’ because

they rose at the same rate as inflation

in recent years, Spain has seen a slight

increase in disposable income with income

rising faster than inflation since 2007.

It should also be noted that the average

worker in the UK needs to put in a shift

of around 48 hours per week to attain his

income while the average Spanish work-

ing week is 39 hours - the Spanish would

rather earn less and have more time with

the families, and that makes for a great

working philosophy!

SO Spain really is still relatively cheap

from a cost of living point of view and once

compared to other western European na-

tions it is clear that by living the life that

suits you, and preparing for it accordingly,

Spain is still an ideal destination for not

only its weather and healthy climate, but

so you can afford to live the life you want

to live in Spain but without the stresses

that come with a high cost of living.

As I write the latest figures arrive on

my laptop showing the cost of living

in Spain has actually come down in

several major sectors across the coun-

try. For example the cost of renting an

apartment has dropped about 10-20%

since the financial crisis began, and

some tourist areas have are reducing

the costs of items in shops to attract

(and keep) the popular regions buzz-

ing in the summer period.

CAN YOU AFFORD TO LIVE THE LIFE IN SPAIN?

So does it still hold true that Spain is a

swer that we need to take several factors

ing the same type of lifestyle when you

start your new life in Spain? Or are you

The English language has some wonderfully an-thropomorphic collective nouns for various groups of animals. We are all familiar with a A Herd of cows A Flock of chickens A School of fish A Gaggle of geese A Pride of lions. However, less widely known is: A Murder of crows as well as their cousins - the rooks and ravens, An Exaltation of dovesand, presumably because they look so wise: A Congress of owls. Now consider a group of Baboons. They are the loudest, unpredictable, dan-gerous, most obnoxious, viciously aggres-sive and least intelligent of all primates... What is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons? Believe it or not: A Parliament YEP...A PARLIAMENT OF BABOONS!Pretty much explains everything, doesn’t it? You just can’t make this stuff up!

Take Tea with Tommy...Ascot Style!!Cambridge 800 launched in Marbella in January 2012 and are delighted

to announce that they will be organising Tea with Tommy Walsh at The

Homes Gardens and Lifestyle Show on the Show days Wednesday 29th

May and Thursday 30th May at La Finca Hotel in Algorfa. There are 30 tick-

ets available each day at just €2.50 a ticket and a percentage of this will

go to the Positively Pink Charity. Ladies and Gentlemen you do not need to

dress Ascot Style but you can if you want to. Join Tommy and Cambridge

800 for Tea and a Cup Cake. We plan to ask Tommy to tell you a little bit

about himself and perhaps a few funny stories from his Ground Force days

but what he tells you will be up to Tommy! We feel sure it will be a fun

time and you will be with him for at least half an hour. On Wednesday this

will take place during the afternoon and on Thursday during the morning.

Gina Marks organiser of the SHOW said the whole idea behind these shows

is that they are just that... SHOWS rather than exhibitions. Yes we will have

some lifestyle companies but the emphasis will be on Homes,Gardens, Lei-

sure products and activities. For more details of the Homes Gardens and

Lifestyle Show and a "growing" list of our exhibitors / promoters please

take a look at www.homesandgardens.es Sarah Hawes, Directora from

Cambridge 800 says: "We always want to encourage healthy eating and

one cup cake will contain approximately 225 calories - so a good walk

around the exhibition and you will have burned off all those calories. A little

of what you fancy, occasionally is good for you!"

At the Cambridge 800 launch in Marbella in January 2012, Britain’s trade

ambassador in Andalucía Joe Cooper described the company as ‘ground-

breaking’ he said: “This is a positive and exciting arrival. I am sure it

will do very well.” Cambridge 800 are proud to be bucking the trend of

despondency and bad news in Spain with the creation of career opportuni-

ties and genuine support and guidance from Accredited Cambridge 800

Consultants. Cambridge have and still are generating good news stories

throughout Spain and especially on the Costa del Sol, where Cambridge

800 began in Spain.

Despite many of us coming to Spain for the healthy lifestyle, according

This month I would like to intro-duce you to the crazy but very talented world of Will Sparkle, after travelling the world for over thirty years he finally settled down in Benidorm twelve years ago where he even had his own bar in the old town for six years called Tiara’s with his partner Steve, but after the closure of the bar Will went out on the circuit around Benidorm with his brilliant Drag Show enter-taining everyone who saw him, he even worked as a regular in the very popular Rich Bitch Show Bar for a while but really started to miss being out on the circuit so decided to leave to go back to being an independent artist.Sparkle has since gone from strength to strength and even highlighted last winter with an afternoon show at Benidorm Palace, his partner Steve is also working along side Will now as his compare and even has his own stage name ... Steve Glimmer.A lot of people are quite nervous about going to see Drag acts as they think they will be very OTT or pick on them and be very rude but this is not the case at all, Will is a very class act and appeals to all generations, he is not a blue act at all – of course he can be very naughty if the occasion calls for it!! But Sparkle is very good at judging his audience and knows just how far to go.Also this month is the start of the live entertainment every weekend in the square in front of Rumours and The Hole in the Wall in Gran Alicant the first one being Soul Power the excel-lent band playing all the classic Soul & Motown hits of yester year and they kick off the summer line up on the 11thSo if you’re a bar or an entertainer and want to appear in the gig guide then please contact me by email on [email protected] or call me on 685302529 or just visit my website www.starsinbars.org Mandy x

With the Premier League race officially finished, it’s the fight for top 4 that is the main talking point. But to begin with, Manchester United have won back the league from their neighbours City, after a win against relegation threatened Aston Villa. Summer signing, Van Persie has led United to a deserved 20th title. They have been thoroughly dominant. The fight for the top four, however, is far from over.Chelsea find themselves in pole position out of the three London sides slugging it out for a win. Chelsea sit a point above Arsenal (as of 28th April) having played a game less and sit three above Tottenham. They have yet to play Spurs at Stamford Bridge this season and that could be one of the key games in deciding which teams qualify for next years Champions League. Chelsea should be confident with the likes of Mata and Hazard in good form recently, but they cannot afford to be complacent.Arsenal supporters have reason to be confident, but they are far from safe. They may have the easiest schedule, but they have played a game more than Spurs and Chelsea and are only two points above Tottenham. They have the weakest team on paper, but if Wilshire and Walcott can start producing the goods then maybe they can qualify. After all, their manager Arsene Wenger has qualified for the Champi-ons League every single season since he joined Arsenal. Tottenham haven’t made the most of some favourable fixtures re-cently, most notably resulting in a 2-2 draw against Wigan in a game they could have easily lost. With player of the year favourite Gareth Bale in their squad, they should be confident of a top four finish and certainly have a stronger squad than Arsenal. Despite this, Spurs have a tendency to peter off towards the end of the season and manager Andre Villas-Boas will have to be careful to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself.Flying down the table, we find the relegation dogfight. After a drab game, QPR and Reading found themselves relegated. As I had pre-dicted, Redknapp couldn’t do enough to keep QPR in the league, and both teams will find it hard to claim they deserve to stay up.However, there is one more spot available. Wigan, Aston Villa, Sunder-land and Newcastle are the teams in danger of falling into the Cham-pionship. For Newcastle, it would represent a huge change in fortune-having been placed 5th in the league last season. In my opinion, their quality of players should keep them up- just.Aston Villa have some of the Premier League’s most talented young-sters and their style this season has been admirable. Yet too often we’ve seen them draw or lose games they should have won. Despite this, I think the quality of players such as Benteke should keep them in the league.Sunderland look revived with new manager Paulo Di Canio. Ignoring the controversy, Di Canio looks like an inspired change and should keep the team in the league now that they are only one win away from the safety of 40 points. They’ve got good quality and it should be enough to keep them safe.So Wigan, once again prove us all wrong. Yet this season, I fear we may be saying goodbye to the Latics. You can’t discount them, since they do this every season, yet they have the worst squad and are cur-rently the team subsiding in 18th position.Well, Wigan fans will hope I’m wrong and we’ll be able to see if I am by the time the next article comes out!!

With the Premier League race officially finished, it’s the fight for top 4

Word: ANOREXICS

1. You have a fox, a chicken and a sack of grain. You must cross a river with only one of them at a time. If you leave the fox with the chicken he will eat it; if you leave the chicken with the grain he will eat it. How can you get all three across safely?

2.U2 has a concert that starts in 17 minutes and they must all cross a bridge to get there. All four men be-gin on the same side of the bridge. You must help them across to the other side. It is night. There is one flashlight. A maximum of two people can cross at one time. Any party who crosses, either 1 or 2 people, must have the flashlight with them.

The flashlight must be walked back and forth. It cannot be thrown and other tricks like that are not needed to solve the problem. The solution is simply a matter of allocating resources in a cer-tain order. Each band member walks at a different speed. A pair must walk to-gether at the rate of the slower man’s pace:

Bono: 1 minute to crossEdge: 2 minutes to crossAdam: 5 minutes to crossLarry: 10 minutes to cross

For example: if Bono and Larry walk across first, 10 minutes have elapsed when they get to the other side of the bridge. If Larry then returns with the flashlight, a total of 20 minutes have passed and you have failed the mission.

It's a toughy! It's EASY!

SOLUTIONS:

1.Answer: Take the chick-en over first. Go back and bring the grain next, but in-stead of leaving the chick-en with the grain, come back with the chicken. Leave the chicken on the first side and take the fox with you. Leave it on the other side with the grain. Finally, go back over and get the chicken and bring it over.2.You get to figure this one out on your own. If you’re having a hard time, here’s

a hint: There is a valid answer that doesn’t re-quire tricks like throwing the flashlight or shin-ing it backwards or having some other means of moving the flashlight.

There’s an assumption people often make that keeps you from solving this. Two mem-bers cross the bridge each time, but neither one of the two the crossed need to return. Think about how that would be possible. If you’re still stuck, use objects to simulate their movement. Use whatever you have laying around - pens, paper, erasers - and move them back and forth. Good luck!
