Exalted Ruler Message:

I would like to take this opportunity to ex-tend my appreciation for the support you gave me during my year as your Exalted Ruler. It has been an interesting year full of emotions from anxiety to elation. I have had some fail-ures and some accomplishments. A few times I wondered what the heck I was doing and why did I accept this job! Your kind words were far more encouraging than you will ever know. Now I find myself wishing I could go on for another year. You have a good slate of Officers for the upcoming year, and I hope you give them the same support and encouragement you gave me. I am sincere in saying I will miss being your Exalted Ruler and I sure will miss that parking space!

Many thanks to all the members who donated during this past lodge year. We reached the the Grand Lodge per capita goal level of $5.70 per member with a grand total of $18,000.00 from the membership.

You will have received your 2016 dues membership notice aand member-ship renewal form. LODGE CLUB NEWS

Hi Fellow Vagabonds

It doesn’t seem possible that here we are ready to elect officers for the coming year. Time certainly does fly by. I hope that many of you will be supportive of all our officers in the coming year. Our club has been growing every month and we look forward to getting to know more of you as the year progresses. So far this year we have had outings at Quartzsite, Lake Mead RV Village in

Boulder City and have scheduled the March campout at the Avi Resort Casino RV Park.

In April we will participate in the Tri-State Rally in Yuma, AZ and then in May we will be in

Wickenberg. I hope many of you will partici-pate in these outings. The Tri-State Rally is always a fun event where many of the mem-

bers participate in game competitions, share meals sponsored by different states, and enjoy meeting new Elks. Our club is hosting an open bar and horse races as well as a basket raffle. This event is very well attended by most who are at the Rally. As many of you already know, our meetings go dark for the months of June, July and August. Those of us who remain in town for the summer continue to meet for lunch and social time at the Lodge. Hope many of you will continue to meet for an infor-mal social time. No official meetings or business will be con-ducted during these months. New members to our Club in the past two months are: David & Marlene Colestock; Dennis Culver & Sharon Barret; Neal Fowler & Janse Kentz; Bob & Laurie Kahi; Fred & Linda Ladner; Wendell & Wynell Pickett; Thomas & Marylou Rioux; Richard & Susan Seales; and Sanoy Smith. Welcome to all of you – we look forward to getting to know you in the coming months. Our Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month (except for June, July, August). For those who want lunch, be there by noon so the staff can accommodate everyone prior to our meeting which begins at 1:00 p.m. Happy Trails to all. Pauline Thonnard, Secretary

FISHING CLUB REPORT The dates for the March Derby are: Wednesday the 9th and Wednesday the 23rd from 6:30 AM until 11:30 AM. Weigh-in at Windsor

Beach South with scales open from 11:30 AM until noon. Lunch will be served at the Lodge following the cleaning. The Club’s Board of Director’s Mtg. will be Monday March 7, 2016 at 11:00AM at the Lodge. The

Club’s General Mtg. will be held at the Lodge on Saturday March 12th at 1:00 PM. Elks needing more information on the Fishing Club are encouraged to attend the Mtg. The winner of the “Take All” Derby was won by the team of Dave Flanning and Jerry Stratinsky. The winner of our “Lucky Lure” award for the month of February was Bob Saxton. Bob caught enough fish in the “Winner Take All” Derby , but due to a misunderstanding he kept throwing them back. The moral, turn them in! The March Fish Fry has been moved to April 9th because of lack of fish. The International Water Ski Racing Association winter race scheduled for next month has been can-celled and so they wont need our picket boats this year. Want to join the Elks Fishing Club? Applications are located on the Fishing Club bulletin board in the back of the room next to the bar. After filling out the form, place the application in the blue box. Any questions, call Jerry Boyce (928) 208-1073 Reminder: Those members who have not paid their dues by March 12th will be dropped from our membership. Dues are $30.00 per year.

Elks Yacht Club News Spring is in the air and we all get anxious for warmer weather and boating. March 20th will be a new event ”The steak out” headed by Rick and Lisa Stilson. This event will be held at the lodge in the after-noon. Tickets are $14.00 for rib eye steak and $10.00 for chicken. Tickets will be emailed. The Lobesterfest will be a two day event this year held at Sara Park. Party and prep on 4/2 and 4/3 is the big chow down. RV park-ing is available, music, free beer and fun. Ticket info will follow at the meeting and through your emails. Opening Day Boat Parade will be in April and the Brunch in May-more to follow. If you are not receiving your emails make sure we have your cur-rent info on file. Call Julie Talbert to update @ 805-550-0527 Meetings are the 3rd Saturday of the month @ 2:00PM Bring your current membership card for the drawing. Other info, call Commodore George @ 303-249-9424.

ELKS GOLF CLUB NEWS Greetings: The March away golf tournament will be held at the Blythe Golf course. All Elks Golf Club members and guest are welcome. The sign up sheets will be located on the club board at the lodge or every Tuesday at the Refuge Golf Course. The Men’s Club championship tournament is bringing the cream to the top. Congratulations to the new champ who will recognized next month. Also, congratulations to Chuck Trayer for making the elusive double eagle on hole #18 at the Refuge Golf Course. Jerry Savilla, Elks Golf Club President.

VOLUNTEER NEEDED\ Volunteers are needed for Adopt a Highway Clean-up on Route 95, Monday April 4th. Meet at the Dairy Queen at 7:30 AM. Look for sign-up sheets. Questions, call Fitz @ 413-522-9016 or 928-303-2350, or email [email protected].
